Hasbro Inc. reportedly wants to purchase rival toy maker Mattel.
The Wall Street Journal reports Hasbro recently approached Mattel with a takeover offer, but no figures for the potential buy-out have been revealed. Mattel is worth about $5 billion, while Hasbro is worth around $11 billion.
Mattel's franchises include Masters of the Universe, Hot Wheels, and Barbie, among others. Hasbro's brands include Transformers, G. I. Joe, and Nerf, just to name a few.
Mattel has reportedly been struggling with poor sales. The company revealed in October it suffered a 14% drop in its third-quarter sales.
