I can't believe she only got $800! I mean everyone knows not to lend money to people who gamble, but this is gofundme! People spend money pointlessly all of the time, even knowing they're not going to get something out of it half of the time!
Shit, I remember following this one dude's kickstarter or gofundme campaign to make some potato salad. It started small, with the goal being to make just one meager bowl of potato salad. He wanted $10. I think he even stated that he had never made it before and wanted to try it. But by the end of it, he pulled in something like $55,000 and threw a big potato-salad-themed bash.
