hey guys, ive recently moved from a mech mod (smpl +vtc4) with a troll rda with kanthal a1 0.25ohms to a kbox 200

im hoping to rebuild with these "http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Helix-Cla...hash=item3d0e42a899:m:mD4Bbgm-x_8P7OrAFXDZ3iQ"

and im wondering if you have experience with them?

both guage say 0.6ohm per coil (0.3 in dual then) but im curious which one i should get? 24g or 26g and would the flavour and clouds be better than my current build?

thanks

In my opinion any type of Clapton or even just some twisted Kanthal offers better flavor and clouds due to the increased surface area, but those seem a bit expensive. If you are not comfortable yet making your own, there are probably cheaper alternatives. I just bought a 10 pack of alien Clapton coils out of curiosity from 3fvape for less than $5usd shipped. They were shipped pretty quickly. I think they also sell a 50 pack of standard Clapton's for $10. UD makes a whole spool of pre-wrapped Clapton wire if you prefer to wrap your own.

oh great, im in the uk however, and so shipping will be very high, the price is not bad imo, 5 coils for under £5, the vape shop wanted £5 to build me a dual coil kanthal build lol

You could also try this: http://www.gearbest.com/accessories/pp_280020.html

It has:
1 spool kanthal A1 26ga, 10m
1 spool nichrome 26ga, 10m
1 spool Ni200 26ga, 10m
1 spool SS 316 26ga, 10m
1 spool kanthal twisted 28ga x 3, 5m
1 spool 26 + 28ga kanthal clapton wire, 5m

It'll give you a bunch of options, and allow you to build TC coils for your new Kbox 200W TC. It's relatively cheap too, less than $15. A 15m spool of Kanthal here in Canada costs about that much, so it's a good option to have if you like variety.

ok great, however shipping time is like 4 weeks from china right?

and whats the advantage of tc over wattage, and which tc is best ss,ni?

Use Epacket when shipping from China, you will receive your package in 2-3 weeks at most.

There is no advantage over TC or wattage mods, they each have a single purpose and they do not cross over unless its SS wire.Unless your mod can adjust wattage for the TC mode (leave at max then) you cannot compare or choose one over the other then for specific wires.

TC seems to be a subjective topic. Some people swear by TC, others hate it. I myself love both, they each serve their own purposes.
TC gives you the ability to regulate how hot your coils get, preventing them from going over a set temperature. Since different juices change taste at different temperatures, you can fine tune the flavors to suit your taste buds. Kanthal is where you get your crazy coils from. Kanthal is much more forgiving, and has a more stable resistance, allowing coils to be built easier (TC wire can be very finicky, arcs are not uncommon when trying to build TC coils).
I prefer SS myself, I find it has a much better flavor than Ni/Ti does, and can be used in BOTH Power and TC modes. This is one of those things that has to be experienced, word of mouth doesn't due it any justice. If you're comfortable with building coils, I would recommend this box, gives you variety, so you can try different coils and see what you like best, then buy larger spools of that coil later. Worst case scenario, you get the box and you don't like half of them; it was still cheaper than buying a bunch of random spools of wire and hoping for the best. This is why I recommend this box to all beginner builders, it will allow you to dunk your toes into all the corners of vaping and find what you like :D

I like TC as it is extremely cold here in winter and my liquids turn to glue, TC prevents me from destroying wicks and coilheads but lets me get a decent vape when out and about. SS is the best TC to date, it provides a great clean taste, its easy to work with, resistance is slightly lower then kanthal and its pretty cheap. Not many devices have this setting yet but it will be a mainstream option soon enough. When my wires arrive I should be able to pull off a advanced coil in TC and get the vape I want...hopefully, as long as it doesnt burn my cotton in the cold with thick juice I will be a happy TC user.

I would very much like to see what sort of crazy builds you can manage with SS, I haven't seen anyone dip there toes into that yet. Even just a fused Clapton running properly in TC I imagine would be amazing, let alone your Jedi Force built coils hahaha

Ummmm.......I thought we did answer your questions. What more would you like to know?

And if you still mean about the wire in your first post, I personally wouldn't recommend it. I would never willingly buy pre-made coils without actually being able to see them beforehand, so I can judge the quality of the coils. I also don't like the fact that they are already wrapped to a certain size, so unwrapping them has the chance of breaking the inner strands of the coil. And just from that image alone the coils looked of pretty shoddy construction (for something being sold by a company, not home made). At least the spools of wire don't come pre-wrapped, so you can design the coils the way you want, and I've used a bunch of different wire from Youde before (buddy even bought a spool of Clapton when he first started using drippers), it's pretty well made, so I trust their wires to be of good quality.

This is one of the few exceptions to my rule. I would buy from you without question. But I can see the quality of your work; and the fact you tailor it to the right specs for each individual makes all the difference. And I'm sure if I asked for a few pics of them before purchase/shipping, you would probably indulge me, so at least I can see what I'm buying. The time and dedication alone that you put into your build more than justifies the cost IMO.

I always post pics before I send them to be sure the person get exactly what they asked for. Thanks for noticing and the appraisal, Im glad someone sees it, my wife doesnt even glance at the work....even though she vapes and relies on me for everything from making juice, coils and filling her tank and charging her batteries...
