hello, concentrate supplies question.

I have been DIYing for a while now.
I'm all about cheapness.

I think I'm paying about £0.60 per 10 mils for my day juice.
Single flavors mixed at about 10%

I also got into rebuilding protank 2 coils. 1.1-1.3 ohm triple twisted 32ga kanthal micro coils is where I'm at.
I use a kanger aerotank base for good airflow.
That rig on an eleaf I stick 20w @ about 8.6w which is probably closer to 10w if the reviews are to be believed

Figuring that out meant that whilst I've been trying to get juices to work for me I've been dealing with A LOT of other variables. So I now have a stable rig to feed with juice.

I've tried lots of different concentrate vendors and I've found that fruit flavors are pretty consistent. Blueberry is always a good fall back. Works well straight after mixing so no steep needed.

Where I'm struggling is with the cake/vanilla type flavors.

Had an apple pie and custard flavor that after 3 weeks steeping became amazing. But other than that I'm not getting enough flavor. Where are people there concentrates from?
I bought a premade flavor (wild strawberry) that is really strong in a good way. Very sweet at the back of the throat that has made me want to up my diy game.

Anyway I've read about people using certain food flavourings.

Any suggested vendors?

Long first post, sorry.

Flavor Art, The Perfumer's Apprentive, Capella all make flavor concentrates good for vaping (there are others also). You're in the UK? You can get Flavor Art locally there (and they're extremely good, highly concentrated flavors). http://www.flavourart.co.uk/

To me, FA and INW are head and shoulders above the rest. Not to mention you tend to use 1-3% of those vs 7-10% of most all the others. The best and cheapest to boot. That's just my opinion.

I am using a lot of FlavourArts flavors for the reasons already stated above and the fact that they seem to taste most authentically like the thing they are named for. Plus, they are their own flavor compounders and so are in the best position to know what is in their product--if you concern yourself with that sort of thing. I also have some assorted TFA, and a few Flavor West, Capella and Inawera flavors which I'm experimenting mixing with FA.

@RocketPuppy's blog/post (stickie?) with links to many flavor vendors is an awesome resource for pointing you in the right direction for DIY purchasing. I can't seem to find the VU version of this page, but perhaps someone could post it? The old one on ECF is here, but I think the VU version is more complete.

I was reading on reddit the other day about a new company called Flavorah which supposedly has very highly concentrated flavors (more so, even than FA) and, according to the few people who have tested it over there, has a killer vanilla custard flavor. They may still be running a promotion where you can get 14 15mL bottles for 35$ shipped.

I've purchased flavors from BullCityVapor.com and mamajsjuice.com and have found they have great prices and the best customer service.

I was checking Flavorah out - their vanilla custard is 2-5%, so it doesn't sound more concentrated than the FA equivalent. I wonder who makes their concentrates?

How the hell are you fitting 8-9 wraps of triple twisted 32 in a protank coil is my first question?

Not sure exactly how big my drillbit mandrel is that I use is. A tiny bit under 2mm.
A toothpick would be perfect but because tripple twist is so rough when i pull it tight it grips the wood and cant slide off.
The tricky bit is getting it seated. There's a slot either side of the cup in a protank 2 head that limits the maximum diameter of the coil.
Then the chimney clicks into that cup as well that limits how high the coil can sit.
(I've tried a lot of microcoil configurations, duals, vertical, double twisted variants)
8 wraps of triple twisted is where its at.

I vape 90%VG (my nic is PG based 72mgs/ml)

Back on topic.

Looks like I'll try TFA and give FA another go.
