Help choosing new box mod for a gift

Hello!

it's my boyfriend's birthday next month and he's been complaining about his current box mod, although we both vape, he is much more into building his own coils and tanks and etc... I mentioned to him I was considering getting him a new mod and all the specifications I was given were, amod to put his aspire triton tank on, high wattage and a generous resistance rage. With this information I sent a text to the guy who's store we normally buy from and he gave me a list of possible high wattage mods
- council of vapor tempest
-limitless LMC
-wismec rx200
-wismec rx200s
-sigelei 213
-sigelei 213 fuchai

I started reading reviews and specifications and most of the specifications and information goes right over my head. I was wondering if I could get some opinions on those mods? Potentially which one would be most appropriate for his specifications? Or if there are other suggestions of mods which aren't on the list which might be more fitting in the guidelines I got?

I will give him the last say on which mod I buy, but it would be nice to be able to offer just a few of the best choices to pick from.
Thanks you!

stay away from the 213 and the fuchai if you want to use it in tc. Great mod for wattage mod though
can I throw a suggestion for a hcigar vt133 at you, it has the dna200 throddled down to 133watts

First of all.......................

Welcome to the Underground!

Can you the great GF that you are tell how many watts he vapes with? Or Temp?

Is he looking for a smaller sized mod or does not give a darn about the size?

I'm really digging my Asmodus Minikin 150 watt mod. Sturdy, reliable, good ergonomics, cool colors, simple, nice design, compact size, and I really dig how you put batteries in and out of it. I get 2 days out of it without changing the batteries, but I only vape at 35 watts, so your actual mileage may vary.

I like it better than my Segelei 150 watt mod, but that's a great choice too.

Without knowing how the receiver of the gift vapes or knowing what your budget is I would only buy the RX's on that list if a gun was held to my head. That being said there are many mods in that price range and cheaper that will probably serve you better. The first 4 boards I would look at are the Yihi, FSK, Aethon and DNA. Everything else compared to them is just second rate in my opinion. For a small mod I love the Coolfire TC. My favorite DNA is the VT133. The FSK board fires anything and is available in a 171w and 101w version via the G2 and Slice. The Yihi board is also tried and true and available in the IPV5, IPV400 and the soon to be released Ipv6. All of these mods can be purchased much cheaper online as opposed to a B&M. Hope this helped.

First off, kudo's on being a great Gf and going the extra mile to get your BF a nice gift. My wife does the same stuff and it really means a lot to us :)
I would say the RX200 is a good choice but keep in mind you will also need to get him 3 married batteries and if he doesn't already have one, an external charger. What is he currently using now?

Oh, and like others said, avoid the 213's and the COV as well.

I'll be very happy if my GF buy me a RX200 for my birthday gift, and I'll give her a big kiss if the RX200 comes with three 18650 batteries.

The IPV5 can be had for $30-40, I don't think it can be beat at that price.

Thank you! and he normally carries his mod in his jeans pocket so I'd assume he would want to continue with that, but he also wants to fit his aspire triton tank with no overhang.
wattage wise, he prefers lower watts but I think he'd like the option to go higher.

Currently he's using a used mod he got off his friend to accommodate his new tank, as all his other mods create a ton of overhang with it. No idea what the model is, but it's pretty crappy.

that triton tank really only needs around 50w depending on coil option.
its 22mm tank and almost anything on the market can accommodate it.

this is a nice dna75 mod...small, 75w, all the bells and whistles, and every feature under the sun

and here is that rx200s fpr 40$
http://www.ecig.com/reuleaux-rx200s-box-mod.html

this same vendor gets the dna133 in often for 80 dollars after coupon code "ILOVEYOU"
youll want to have them notify you by signing up real quick. Its well worth it, considering that mod, is probably the best bang for the buck IMHO.
- small, great all day device with plenty of power and custom options.

To be honest, I still do not know what is difference between RX200 and RX200S. What is 'S' for?

Not a dumb question. The two are similar, but the S is a newer, updated version with a lot of improvements. Bigger display, Improved 510 connector (the thing on the top that you connect your tank to), and some more fun features. IF you were going to go with one of those, definitely get the S. The original RX200 has been plagued by problems, so much so that I sold mine away.

IPV5 was a great suggestion though. Though its true you don't really NEED one for a Triton (don't get me wrong, I have a Triton and love it), it's a great price, and may fall into the category of "last mod you'll ever need." IPV makes sturdy mods with good chips at good prices. I currently own the IPV 3Li (essentially the "grandfather" of the IPV 5), and the single battery IPV D3, which can be found for $30-35, and will go up to 80 watts.

Sooooo... I know it's been a while. But any results? You get an IPV5 or something like that?

Come on, we all helped you out, we deserve to know what new mod your BF is now enjoying!
