So after going through my first pack of replacement heads and being very displeased with how shortly they lasted and how much they cost, I got some kanthal wire and wick. I have 30 gauge wire, 32 gauge wire, organic Japanese cotton, and some very think silica cord. I've tried making several coils with different gauge wire and materials and they end up producing barely any vapor. Just a tiny almost invisible puff comes out after a long drag.
Just like all of the CE5 tutorials I've seen, I make five wraps of 32 gauge wire around the wick. The wire obviously does not touch the walls because it does fire. In some of my coils a few of the wraps may have touched each other, is that okay? What am I doing wrong? Should the wraps be close, far, or touching each other? I know it's not an issue with the wick absorbing juice because I put a few drops on the coil before assembling and it still barely works.
