I'm on the hunt for a new device. It's been awhile since I picked up anything new and shiny and the itch is flaring up with full force. One could say, however, that I'm picky. Despite my looking and browsing and looking some more, I'm coming up empty. Maybe someone here knows what I'm looking for?

You see, I'm looking for a device that ...

1. Has interchangeable 18650 batteries, nothing built-in. Single or dual, doesn't much matter. Preference towards single.

2. Has a secure, threaded or screw-on battery bay. Not magnets.

3. Has a chipset that goes up to, at least, 50W.

Would be nice if there was a floating 510 in there and steered away from gimmicks (like some of the custom mods I've been looking at that only let you change wattage by turning the device this way or that, using an accelerometer of sorts). Price isn't much of an issue, I've been a real good boy about vape purchases lately, so I'm due for something nice.

Anywho, I don't even know if there's anything out there that hits all the marks. I'm leaning towards the new Kanger Subox set up, but I'm already "happy" with my original Kbox and ... eh... just doesn't seem like a huge step up, you know? Like, it'd be nice to have and all... just... I don't know, hard to explain it really. Doesn't seem like much of a upgrade beyond the screen and wattage.

Any help steering me in the right direction, though, is much appreciated!

Beautiful guys, thank you both very much. I'm gonna go and start looking into both of those to find what scratches me behind the ears just right. For the uses I have in mind, i.e. taking it out into the wilderness, that Invader mini looks like it would work perfectly, and provide that extra protection from rain, dirt, drops and bumps.

That Mini SX looks sexy as hell. Dunno why I never took a closer look at it before.

Ugh, decisions decisions...

edited to add: yep, that Invader sure is checking off all the right boxes. Thanks for the head's up (again), I think I'm going to pick one up for sure because of the price point. Still may even have enough in the budget to swing both. Now that'd be something, go in asking for a recommendation to a mod, come back out with a full shopping cart.

After watching a couple stress-test videos on that Invader Mini, DanRo you nailed it. That's my next 'campin' mod right there, hands down. Impressive stuff. Thank you for pointing it out to me! The SX is a very pretty mod, and I'm sure it'll probably be one of my next purchases - but as far as something rugged, water & shock-proofed that I don't have to worry about dying out on me cause I forgot it in my pack during a rain event (or fell over and hit a tree on my way down, you know, stuff happens out there) - the Invader is gonna be my horse. Excited about it, no doubt.

There are actually unicorn mods available on fast tech, please don't go that route. Some very unknown Chinese special price mod, or fisher price. For a decent tank that I think will withstand the rigors of things being bumped and banged around the plastic isub tanks are less than $15 from multiple vendors. Got one on order myself, so I'm sure I can test that theory myself in time lol.

Heh, no no, FastTech is for drip tips and empty bottles. I'll take a look at that iSub, though, thanks for the head's up.

The SX mini has the gravity sensors you don't want. Everything on your list can be found with the iPV mini 2.
