Help me set up for TC mode for the first time!

Hi.

I've not been vaping long enough to be tricked out enough to confidently fire my mod in TC mode.

Can someone point me in the right "safe" direction?

I have the smok g priv using the q2 or is it 4? Coil.

Can someone recommend some starting settings I can work from? I'm just concerned I might have the mod running too hot and unsafe?

Hey man, if you're using Smok coils I believe they are only in kanthal so you wouldn't be able to use them in TC.

Hey thanks for that, I assumed it would work cause the mod has programmed itself in my pocket and switched to TC mode and fired once before? I realised the differNce in draw then checked the mod and it was in TC?

Guess I'll just have to wait till I build on the rba or one of the few rta & rdas I've picked up.

Like Dueces said, the coils are kanthol and, although they will fire, they won't work properly in TC mode.

5 clicks of the firebar, or pressing Up/Down/Fire at the same time, will lock the buttons for safer pocketing.

Actually it's three presses to lock on the g priv, 5 asks if you want to power down.

Sorry to butt in here, but in new here (and to vaping as well) and I happen to be getting the same Gpriv today. I'm curious as to what types of wire do work good for TC? I've seen some videos of people using TC mode and stuff, but never saw any specifics on types of wire needed. Thanks in advance

SS wire is the popular choice for temp control and it's my favorite as well.
but while i haven't used my g-priv in TC mode, every other smok mod i've tested has been crap for temp control including the alien, g320, gx350. I wouldn't be surprised if the g-priv was awful for TC as well

You seem to know your smok stuff..... care to recommend a good RBA to match the G-priv? I read on here that the RBA for the TFV8 was crap, so I'm considering buying another tank all together. Thanks

if you want a rebuildable get a true RTA. as of now my favorite is the exo RTA

here is my current top 5

also i haven't had it long enough to give ti a recommendation but I'm really liking the pharaoh RTA as well

So I was looking at my coils and noticed something that reminded me of this comment. The packaging for my replacement coils says stainless 000? Is this only referring to the outside of the coil?

Bump... I have this exact same problem as well. I have the exact same replacement coils and it says on the package Stainless 000. What does this refer to?
