Hey guys, I'd like some input about ratios because I think I'm on to something. I basically eyeballed it and just mixed it up, but the end result is pretty damn good for my personal taste:

6% FA black tea

4% TFA brown sugar

1% Inawera Lemon

I think it's pretty obvious here what I'm going for. The Inawera lemon is on its own a very chemically lemon taste so best used in smaller dosages but works surprisingly well here. I like a lot of sugar in my tea so I used a lot of brown sugar.

IMO, the percentage of FA Black Tea and TFA Brown Sugar is extremely high. Most FA flavors require just 2-3%. Therefore, I'd start with 2% FA Black Tea, and 1-1.5% TFA Brown Sugar. I don't know the INW Lemon, so I can't give advice for that.

never tried the FA black tea ..6% seems a bit high for FA but it could work!
just watch and see how it is after a week or two .. as the 6% may still boomerang on ya after steep..but if not .. winner winner!

Woo.
TFA bs is a 1% max. It cloys and over rides until it steeps.
I would go as far as 1% and work up with fa black tea.

Not a bad start for a guesstimate.
I'd try the recipe cut in half once just for comparison sake...
Long as you like it, that's what counts.

For my personal taste I find FA Black Tea over 4.5% far too astringent and bitter. I like

4% FA Black Tea
2% FA Jasmine
1.3% TPA Sweetner

Brown sugar? To each their own.

I agree that this is probably a bit high for most people. I do tend to enjoy more powerful flavourings, i.e 'The Milk' by Teleos is the level of sweetness that I'd shoot for. That being said, it could just be that my taste buds are muted from years of smoking cigarettes lol.

Oh I didn't take steeping in to consideration, it might just become too overpowered over time. It's only my second mix attempt so far. Other than this popular 'mustard milk' from Reddit where I could barely taste anything.

I'll give that a shot on my next concentrate order. I've heard someone say before that they can't stand the TFA brown sugar, personally I find it delightful. I smell and taste genuine brown sugar just like the one in my pantry, I actually thought for a moment that it was nothing more than brown sugar dissolved in PG lol!

With all my flavors my beginning % is always 5% and don't add sweetener if using Palm oil VG since it's pretty sweet..... If the lemon is potent add 2% and maybe later increase after the the 7 to 10 day steep..... Remember that by putting the mix in the microwave for 10 seconds twice a day the steeping process can be cut down to 2 or 3days...... Open the lid of your mix let fresh air in close lid, microwave for 10 seconds and mix vigorously until it has so many bubbles it looks white Luke cream and repeat the process. Once or twice daily....... It will speed up the process and it will taste really amazing....... Just try it........

Thanks ...but ...

When I look at the ingredients of a root beer barrel candy sold on Amazon I find...
----
Hydrogenated starch hydrolysate, artificial & natural flavors, sucralose, artificial colors (FD&C yellow 6, red 40, blue 1, yellow 5 and red 3), and soy lecithin.
---
Are all those ingredients things I want to vape?
Each to their own, vape what you want, but just looking at that list of artificial flavors, the answer for me is no.

All the colors and stuff they put in e-juices it all goes into our lungs..... I know I rather have a lot of the stuff into me from ejuice compared to the cigarette smoke I put in my lungs for 25 years.......

The juice I make doesn't have any of that "stuff", which is another reason why so many of us DIY.
That way "we" have control over what goes into our juice.

Remember that by putting the mix in the microwave for 10 seconds twice a day the steeping process can be cut down to 2 or 3days.

Don't do this with plastic bottles, they will melt down and/or blow up.
But then I don't recommend using the micro for anything juice related.
Crock Pot at 140-150 is safer if you must IMO.

9 seconds or 10 seconds it's not enough to heat up...... It just warms it up...... I've been using the same method for (4) years and have never had anything melt.....

My 15ml plastic bottle melted and burned my fingers when I tried to pick it up.
Had to clean the mess out of the micro then.
Might have been 15 sec tho, so I never tried it again.
Could be mine just puts out more watts, but best to use glass if you must.
That plus heating plastics can cause leaching of some unwanted chemicals in your mix.
But tried it later on 50% power for like 2 min, seemed to be just warm that time.
