Hey guys, I need your help! I've had this issue before, and I have NO IDEA what exactly causes it, or how to fix it.

I have 3 kayfuns. All 3 are EHpro, although different versions. I've had them all for about 7-10months or so. They ALL have a weird , unpleasant taste.

I've tried cleaning them, replacing the delrin plug thingies, rebuilding on them, all to no avail.

Any advice?

Off as in burnt? Like you dug the wicking out of some Spaniard's backside? Muted? More info please

Im gonna be a negative nancy. I had a love/ hate relationship with my kayfuns. Sometimes they were great for weeks at a time, then BAM! problems like crazy. All too often, it would take days of stress, frustration, and dark obsession to finally make them work again. I switched to rdas and got rid of those problems. Heck, my orchid is alot less problem than my kayfuns were.
But, good luck to you man. I hope you get it worked out.

Hey guys. Thanks for the posts. If I could have defined "off" more, I would have. Perhaps I should have said muted? The flavor is muted, combined with an off-tasting flavor , that I can't really describe. Definitely NOT burnt.

As I've mentioned, I've had my kayfuns for close to a year, and this is the second time this has happened to them.

As for my builds....they are 26g....around .9-1.1 ohms.

It isn't all my devices.....my aspire nautilus mini tastes just fine. Although my RDA (Infinite CLT v2) does seem off too. I have been sick recently....just got over the flu.

I was thinking it could have been the flu myself......but I was having this problem with my kayfuns before I got the flu I think......and also, my aspire nautilus isn't causing any flavor issues.

Muted on RTA's (not RDA's) can almost always be traced to over-wicking. The wick on an RDA should be quite snug...this is not the case on RTA's...as too much thickness tends to choke off juice flow at the coil. The wick should be thick enough to fit...not too snug, but also not so loose as to not make solid contact with the coil ID. Try wicking it again as I described and let us know how it went. Also...some juices are not good tank juices. For example, Jimmy The Juiceman's juices only shine in a genesis style atty. Some juices are dripping juices...some are tank juices, and so on.

Just out of curiosity, what mod and how much power you giving them (if regulated)?

Sigelei 100watt.

On average, I keep the wattage around 14-15watts. I know that seems low to some people, but for me, it has always done the job well.

I'm thinking the poster above, who said too much wicking. Either that, or maybe I didn't make the wick loose enough (made it too tight), and its choking. Although I would think with that, I'd get a burnt taste. Definitely NO burnt taste. Just seems like the flavor isn't coming through, and I'm getting this weird additional taste that I can't put a finger on. Could even be my taste buds. Maybe something is making my taste buds act up.

Wicking likely is the issue, just usually improper wicking will also cause gurgling and or leaking, though not always.

@Pauly Walnuts I know exactly how you feel. I've mastered the Kayfun pretty well, but I've gotten into RDA's, and a good non leaky one is just so much simpler. No matter how good you get with a Kayfun, problems creep up, and it sucks having to drain a tank and all to re build. I do want a V4 to try out, though, for exactly that reason. I fuck up my build, I don't have to drain my juice.

OP, let us know how it goes.
