Hey guys, recently, I am trying to buy a new charger for my Li-ion battery.
I am wondering which one should I buy, Nitecore UM2 or XTAR VC2. XTAR VC2 is expensive than Nitecore, but seems to have longer life span and higher quality.
Should I give up VC2 and buy Nitecore?
I saw a video on youtube, which is about 0V activation funtion. XTAR VC2 seems to be much more supirior than the other two chargers.

Ha, it's so difficult to choose.
Anybody, Please help.

I think you answered it for yourself....Go with the XTAR VC2...I have a Nitecore and happy with it so far but if I were to get a new charger I would pay a bit more and get a XTAR...The only reason I got the Nitecore was at the time I was under a budget and it was the best bang for the buck

Just a quick FYI.

Fany works for Xtar.

And as of 2 minutes ago, she has been warned about trolling for business.

Just Saying........................

Fany, if you have something to sell, then do it the proper way in accordance with VU policy....and knock off the diversion tactics....it just makes you out to be dishonest and implies that we are stupid.

Note to self never buy a Xtar. Hell, that was an easy decision. BTW I bought 2 Pila chargers back in 2011ish and they both work flawlessly. Still the only chargers I own.

After owning one....then moving to a Nitecore, then LUC.......it is in my opinion that the Xtar is entirely obsolete. Again, this is an opinion based on comparison and ownership.

That sounds to me like you used an old as dirt xstar and are comparing that to an old as dirt nitecore and then got a new LUC I have them all as well so what's the actual issue of the 3 the nitecores are the worst IMHO of course based on ownership as well

Perhaps....my Nitecore was a D4 which are still quite popular, so that is not it. As for the Xtar...it was a two bay, and my first charger. What in my opinion sets the LUC apart is that when two mated cells are in adjacent bays...it charges them at 2amp. Another feature is that you get an actual number telling you how many volts remain...and that it has charged a cell all the way to 4.2v. The Nitecore and Xtar just give you bars.

I dunno. My Xtar seems to charge my batteries as it's meant to do. That's what I expect from a charger - not sure what I'm missing here:p

Oh lord,my daughter made me sit through all the Paranormal Activity movies (not sure i got that name right). I'd rather vape on a throwaway ecig than go through those again LOL But...American Petrol?? What's wrong with that - the price is a fraction of what we used to pay in the UK!

In the US "Light Crude" is what is refined into petrol.....In the UK "Brent Crude" is used and has a much higher octane. To get the octane I used before I moved here...I'd have to use avgas......which is about the same price as petrol in NW Scotland where I'm from. This is why most British cars do not last long burning US petrol.

LOL...if the engine is designed and built to meet "US emission regulations" then it is quite happy burning US petrol! Odd how Americans like their petrol like their beer.....watered down and lacking PUNCH! *waits for it*. NOTE: This thread was rubbish from the OP, so I do not mind hijacking it.

Haha on the hijacking - got that one! I'm English, so much as I'm a fan I'm a bigger fan of US oil prices LOL Now, if you're telling me I'd get more mpg from British petrol I'd be interested (not that I could do much about that!)

I understand that I have the LUC as well and if I need to charge at that ungodly rate and lower the life of my cells I will but the Xstar VP2 has the same functionality I also have not been able to revive a cell with the LUC I just revived a cell that dropped to 1.09 on the Xstar VP2 not the crummy thing with the speedometer on it hahah

What octane number is default there in Britain?

I consider myself American as I have lived here longer than there. It is sad that I enjoy the lower prices here, knowing that so many in northern Scotland are losing their jobs as a result of the global surplus of crude. So far, 30,000 have been laid off, and exploration has been halted.

Default would be 95 which is "Regular", 97 is "Mid", and 99 is "High".

Here's the thing. My car (a Lexus) is 10 years old, and obviously speed is restricted on highways. I need to get from A to B reliably. So how would British Petrol help me to do this better? (Just being argumentative here obviously - I should probably to go bed LOL)

It is not the petrol...it is all the rubbish that has to be done to American engines just so they can burn the local fuel. Higher octane only benefits racing engines, and engines designed to burn European fuel.

Wasn't that what I was getting at? So, why would I be concerned with what was done to my engine so I could drive my car? I realize I'm being very dense here:p

It was a bit of a drive to the M4! Of course, there were no motorways when I was growing up. My grandmother lived in Wales, and it was a full day's trek to visit her!

The only reason that happened is because you admitted openly that your opinions are suspect at best and are not to be trusted thats all.

My one and only is 17 1/2 (I had her late). But I'm about to lose her to college. I'll miss hearing someone say 'mom are you vaping cookies?' LOL
I'll say this to you frequently if it'll help. As long as they aren't of the Lemon Bar variety ;)
