hey what's up everybody,
So I have a question regarding the UWell crown tank, and this asmodus Helve 120w mod. I just traded my boss my black/gun-metal snow wolf (not sure if it was a 1.5v or v2) not that it matters, but I got the camo asmodus helve in return, and the mod has a bunch of different TC settings, two are for temp control with SS, one is ss304 and the other is ss316.
I have two tanks which have ss coils(that I actually have) one being the Herkales Plus, and the other is the UWell Crown tank. I have to check when I get home which type of SS wire is used with the herkales, but the crown .25 and .5 coils I know are 316, I currently have the .5 uwell crown ss coil installed in my crown, so I would assume that is the exact setting I need for it to work properly on the helve, the ss316 setting. Is that correct? Also, what's the ideal setting for a warm and flavorful vape? I have a smok r80 TC box too, which came with A MICRO tfv4 tank, which is sweet as tits by the way, with the clp2 coils, yum. But when I run my uwell crown tank on the smok R80 TC box it runs TC fucking awesome. When I run it the same way on the helve, it's nowhere near the same vape, the smok is just ten times better..is there a reason for this?
I'm assuming it might have something to do with customizable settings I'm the r80, I'm allowed to set it if I want min, soft, norm, hard or max on the r80, on the helve I can, only set the wattage and temp, no soft, min, norm, hard or max.

Thanks for all input and advice. And
Thanks again!

I don't like the Crown coils at all using TC, the Crown coils have Kanthal leads, I use Power Mode with the .25 Crown, usually 55W-65W. the .50 Crown did not do it for me. The Kanthal leads screw up TC in my opinion.

I have an R80 and a crown I run with the .25 coils. What settings do you use. I can't seem to get a good vape with TC.

With the .5 I'm running the r80 at 450f and on soft. With the .25 I believe I was using it at 420-450f and on norm or hard.
Works amazingly well. Better than wattage mode IMO

If your coil resistance is all over the place when you first attach the tank. Try going into the settings and the 836th setting to the right, go into that, and set your coil resistance to 2.64
For some reason, my coils perform quite well when I manually set the resistance to that with the .25 coils
Not sure why it just does

So what do you plan on doing when your battery goes Boom, those setting are wrong and dangerous being that the coil is .25!

.......
It's a .25 ohm coil. The coil was made with a slightly lower/higher gauge. Setting the COIL RESISTANCE to .264 is not going to cause anybody's device to go boom.

Same with my .5 coil
When it's attached to my r80, it's reading .52 .. Not .5, the .5 or .25 is just a base. Not every coil is going to be EXACTLY what it says it is. Just doesn't work that way every time.

And if your not enjoying you vape with tc and ss on the crown. Your not using the right device to achieve an awesome vape in tc with ss.
Try the smok r80 or the asmodus helve, and then tell me having kanthal leads is not better than wattage :)

I'll fix that. My bad. But it's O.K to manually enter your resistance on coils. NOT EVERYTIME will your device read exactly what's stamped on the coil. In the crowns case, if it's not firing right, you need to adjust it a few increments to have it work properly in temperature control. I'm not telling anybody to set the resistance to .777 on a .250 coil. I'm stating from experience it is O.K to adjust the .250 ohm crown SS coils to .264, and it works perfectly fine. No battery boom, no problems, just a great vape. The coils sometimes come slightly higher or lower in resistance compared to what they are labeled.

Crown coils don't have kanthal leads, they are nickle. Regardless, it still throws off TC a bit. You basically have to fudge what you have to get it right.

316 has a TCR of ~91. Most people use a TCR of 100-105 for Crowns. If you put in a different resistance than what it is, that is going to be less certain. You are basically telling your device to ignore TC till some much higher value. SS has a very narrow range. So 0.25, but you set 0.26... Will shift your final temp up. Not that you can't, but don't shift it too much.

The other problem is the nickle legs will degrade and ohms will read erratic. That too gives TC fits.

Having said all that, it's the only way I ran my Crown. Vape was anemic with 316 TCR. 105 was good for me. You can lock a ohm setting in on DNA chips so I would lock ohms. Worked great for me. Nice warm vape. A couple coils eventually didn't temp limit and I would get immediate burnt hits. Other than that it was never a problem. Most coils would last a couple weeks at about 2 tanks a day.

I run the .5 coils,in temp mode 316L on my 120w Asmodus Helve(camo) at 30watts, sometimes less (around 20-27.5) and at 350F-400F, and it is THE BOMB. ALL-day everyday. I NEVER experience a dry hit, AND NEVER have any problems what do ever. ON THE helve mod I can't go in and manually adjust the resistance like I can on my R80 but it always readS .52 with the .5 coils, and always .26 with the .25's. I prefer the .5s when using TC because it seems to work much better at lower wattage. I usually fill up the crown tank 4-5 times a day, sometimes more. But at least 4 Full tanks every day. I really need to cut back, not for money issues(as I actually manufactor and sell eliquid for OutlawBlendz.com) but for my worrysum's sake. I tend to worry blowing huge clouds and consuming close to 15mL a day is going to affect my health in the future. Idk why, just something my body is telling me I guess, or maybe it's my brain. So yeah, going to try and lower my wattage and use TC with the crown and I also am LOVING my new aspire cleito tank. The flavor is really up there with the crown. I hope they make SS coils in the future.
