Thing about making my first box mod purchase and leaning toward a hexohm box.

Any pros?

Any cons?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the input

Not to poopoo oh boys work...mega cool and all (but really fits into the "the original costing and arm and a leg, but a "clone" can be MUCH MUCH cheaper [ULTRA cheap if you can DIY])

But he has maybe $30 worth of stuff in that...a $2-4 trimpot, that $10 chip, a $2-3 push button, and a $2-3 510 connector, and a $2-4 2S1P 18650 holder in that $5-10 custom box

In fact...that right there gives me a HUGE idea on making my own regulated/adjustable VV box mod
And heck...I won't put a logo on it...and sell em for $99 :p

nah...

Not everyone on this forum has the electrical and soldiering skills to make their own box mods. I agree it's a pretty simple box to put together. And there is less than $50 in parts in that box. Now you have to figure in a couple of hours labor, paint, custom laser engraving, and store profit. The price doesn't look to bad after all is considered.

i thought about making my own, but I wanted to try one for myself to see if it was worth the effort. I can now say Im loving the box and I see what to tweak when I make my own. So with that I'm putting a price list together and will keep you posted on that. It should be a fun project.

TheGoss, maker of The Duke, is about open and free. He gave out how to make The Duke and that's where you get complete 1:1 mods like HexOhm. Just ordered one myself. After a couple hundred on fasttech mechs, I decided to invest in something that will last.

This is why I bought a Provari awhile back.. I spent decent money on legit mods like the evic and still has issues 6 mo's down the road.. best $ i ever spent on a tube mod. That's why I'm holding off on my first high wattage box mod to figure out the ones that are duds and ones that aren't worth the $

I'm waiting on prices on raptor chip mods to come down. HexOhm makers have one, KaiModz has one, lots have one, but for 220+. I can't justify that. All my mods have broke including my trusty Silver Bullet. So I could justify 150.

The hexohm is awesome so far. The only thing that I don't like is that the atty isn't flush. It's a problem that a lot of users have but its something that I can live with.

Its not crooked. The 510 is shallow and nonadjustable. so theres a small gap in between the box and atty.

FYI

I talked to Craving Vapor last week and very soon Version 2 will be released. It will have 150Watts and a new 510 connector which will resolve the atty not sitting flush issue.

Its also about 80 bucks more. Uses the raptor chip instead of the okr. I'm good with the original.

I picked up a V2 in store for only $189 and it was a ECC special edition they had left over from the show. It seems the price is being dropped by 50$ for the initial release.

I wanted to correct it is not 150W but 110W.

it is the okl chip, not a raptor (on the hexohm V2)

I recently purchased an unregulated hexohm from cravingvapor.com. When I got my order they accidentally send me the unregulated v2.1 but, under my production number, (#85) there is an "m" instead of saying v2. Very confused.
