Speaking of Old Fashioned Doughnut, try adding .5% FA Bilberry for a hint of fruit, and a full 1% for the best blueberry cake doughnut in the known universe. I use Joy at the recipe's high end to give the Bilberry a little bump in sweetness.

Yes, the entirety of the known universe.

The cake element in both of these is sublime. That said, Doughnut was my favorite. And then I tried Lemon Pudding Cake.

It was a tough call between the Doughnut and Pudding Cake but the nutmeg called to me. Ooh adding Biberry sounds good in it too. I switch flavors during the day. Usually I have a vanilla, a fruit and a dessert in tanks and then drip the boozy, citrus, ginger, chocolates etc. Some mixes can cross the lines (Pear Apple Frangipane, Limoncello Parfait, or Irish Cream Milkshake). When I finish off my Limoncello I'll mix up the pudding cake.

HIC's Mixes
View attachment 14373

What is HIC's mixes?
This is my stash of unpublished DIY recipe files -- ones not available anywhere else. They are most of my recipes since early 2015. HIC's Mixes recipes are for personal, non-commercial use only.

What do I get when I buy a HIC's mixes recipe?
You immediately receive an automated email including a "download" button. Click the button to tell it where you want your file. The .pdf file includes the recipe and accompanying notes, such as recipe variations, flavor substitutions, explanation of flavor interactions, interesting background info, mixing tips, etc. You also get free updates any time the file changes (you can opt out any time). I monitor diketone information, new flavor releases, and availability of flavorings used in these recipes. Updates are sometimes related to that, or they may be extra notes, a new variation, or a reformulated recipe.

What flavors do I need?
HIC's Mixes recipes use mainly FlavourArt e-cig flavorings. The description tells you if any other brands are needed.

Why buy HIC's unpublished recipes?
Here are some reasons DIYers have given me:
You want better-than-vendor vapes -- with no diacetyl or substitutes.
You're new to DIY or FlavourArt and want tasty results quickly.
You need to save time/money/effort -- but you want gourmet vapes.
You're an experienced DIYer and want to learn new FlavourArt mixing tricks.
You've enjoyed my public recipes, and you want more.

Follow me on Gumroad to receive notification of new recipes. New recipes are added often!

Just considering DIY? Want to keep it very simple?
Select recipes are available as premixed flavorings here: http://mamajsflavorshop.com/specialty-shop/hics-mixes/ . Just add some drops to your unflavored nic base.

My notes on many FlavourArt flavors are available here: http://mamajsflavorshop.com/headinclouds-my-notes-on-flavor-descriptions/
I'm new to the DIY, but super psyched and you just made my adventure fool-proof! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Congratulations on your new business venture! I can't wait to try all your new creations. :)

I have a tugboat...same issue. I have to have it screwed onto battery and pull. Only way I can do it.
I still have not gotten it apart! Good grief....
I think I wasted money on this one!

You guys aren't helping ;) I'm trying to plan my next mix fest and everything sounds so good! These recipes made it to the short list for this round. I won't do them all, but the contenders are:

- Mango Sticky Rice
- Baklava
- Prickly Peach
- Gooey Coconut Cookies (or Linzertorte or Peppermint Buttercrunch or whatever cookie fits my mood)
- Old-Fashioned Doughnut (Lemon Pudding Cake was a runner up)
- Vanilla Silk Pudding
- Black Pepper Ice Cream
- Sweet Watermelon Juice
- Corpse Reviver (woot! I have all the flavors!)
- Ginger Beer Ninja (I loved AiV Ginger by the Sea, this isn't the same but may fill the spot)

I have plenty to keep me busy while I wait for NF Malt to do the Irish Cream, Fig and Strawberry recipes.
Enjoying Blueberry Cider as I type this.
Black Pepper Ice Cream? Where is THAT recipe? I would love to give that a go!

I want to say a big heartfelt thank you to you, HIC. You are truly a beautiful person and I think you would help out anyone. Having your recipes for sale is such a benefit to so many for a number of reasons.

Oh yeah, I've been a mixing with black pepper too. Love it! A fabulous addition to the spice rack!!
Hi Daintanee, I could not agree more with you. HIC is indeed a very very helpful person. Not only are his recipes great, he makes it a point to answer all and any questions one may have. He has an abundance of knowledge and skill when it comes to DIY juice making, and the best part is that he does not mind sharing it and helping others out. I speak from personal experience. True HERO in my opinion.:)

I'm the same way. Always have one tobacco(ish), one bakery, and one fruit or fruit-infused vape going per day. Lately the tobacco has been the only constant though (only the Hangsen will scratch that itch), and I'm all over the place with what I call my "ancillary vapes" lol.

I haven't put this Old Fashioned (Blueberry) Doughnut down all damn day. I can't isolate exactly what's happening in this mix, whether it's the Joy or the nutmeg that's making this Bilberry explode, but it's kinda blowing my mind. Is it possible for vapor to taste a little better than the real thing?!

You will really like it I think. HIC beat me to the link. Sorry about tank issues. You'd think they could just make one decent tank instead of gazillions each with their own flaws and quirks for us to have to finale around.

Hi Retrox..What % of Joy do you use?

I'm using the highest percentage of Joy that HIC recommends in the Old-Fashioned Doughnut Recipe. He refers to it as the "extra glaze flavor" variant in the notes. I'm also using Holiday Spice at the minimum percentage recommended in the recipe so that it isn't competing with the Bilberry for center stage. The profile is still very balanced across the board after two days. The spice is subtle but accentuates the berry perfectly and keeps that yummy Old-Fashioned charm intact.

Unfortunately that will be the extent of my testing for this batch, because it's almost gone. I will be making precisely zero changes for batch #2. :D

Oh, and I am using Bilberry at 1%. .5% was good too, but leaves the spice front and center. At 1% Bilberry, the spice note moves into a supporting role and the berry shines!

That's it - doughnut just went to the top of the list.. half will be the base mix and half will be with Bilberry (I love it and FF).
Hopefully I'll get mixing time soon but things could go awry, I have Jury Duty tomorrow. This is the busy time for work and if I end up on a case I will be even further behind. This is the 9th time I've been called, compared to twice for the husband. Sigh.

I haven't done tobacco since my first Blu 2 years ago and I'm Ok with that. I initially scoffed at the cherry and vanilla flavors in the starter kit. Silly me. Now I'm having fun with calorie free treats. My husband just shakes his head when I tell him about my latest concoctions (Thanks HIC!) :D

And my girlfriend! Funny thing too, I've been mixing nonstop for almost 2 years now, and she's never asked me to make anything for her. She's loyal to her brands, she knows what she likes, I respect that, and don't force the issue; I'm just happy that we're both vaping instead of smoking. Couple nights ago I let her try HIC's Lemon Pudding Cake. She did the usual nod / shrug that she always does when I let her try my stuff, and then she said... "Can you make this with strawberry instead of lemon?"

I actually did a double-take... said, "Huh?"

So I just subbed FA Strawberry for FA Sicily in that recipe and she's vaping it right now.

HIC: Satisfying other men's ladies since 2015.

Most of my tobacco mixes are barely recognizable as such. That's why I call them tobacco(ish)! I like them a little nutty and a little sweet. With my newest inventory of FA flavorings, I'm playing with Honey, Maple, and Walnut alongside Hangsen Desert Ship and RY5. I don't like the drier, ashier tobaccos at all any more. I do enjoy the earthy, moist leafy note that a good tobacco flavoring brings and some of them make great foundations to build upon with other flavors.

 Now, now... It was your girlfriend's idea, and you mixed it, so I'm totally innocent. lol

I get the "you're vaping whaaaaat!?" reaction at home a lot. But they like to challenge me, "Hey, could you make one taste like this?" Nobody wants me along at the grocery store. They abandon me in the junk food snacks aisle, reading ingredient labels. haha!

Welcome to DIY! What have you been vaping?
I love Skull and Roses Juice Company's Cream Puff War and Strawberry Fields. My one goal is to recreate their two juices. I began ordering DIY supplies, like flavorings and VG/PG. What flavorings did you start out using and for actual mixing, lab supplies...where did you order from, before becoming a pro? :)

I don't know that company at all, but just some general comments. When a company makes a point of their "FDA approved" flavoring, and they don't state it's free of anything in particular, I personally assume it's using loads of diketones. Especially with a flavor called Cream Puff War, lol. If you're dedicated to getting a precise match of their flavors, probably best to start with cream flavors from several brands. I'd suggest TFA and Capella flavors, to be honest. If you know they use FA flavors or you want a no-diketone version (would taste different!), then look at more FA's creams.

When I started DIY I had to have my coffee vapes. I bought loads of coffee and cream flavors from all the different brands. That's how I found FA and why I stuck with them. Small sample sizes are my best advice, until you know what you like. I have so many bottles I tried only once - wish they were much smaller sizes and that I'd spent less on them. I get my FA flavors from mamajs - and I still tend to use small bottles. Okay, I get Vienna Cream by the vat, but otherwise...

Haha! My husband to...just shakes his head....Lol!

Coffee, HIC?! I now know how you can vape that awful stuff. You cover it all up with 100% sweet as sin VG. Haha it's like drinking a cup of sugar and cream with a little coffee.

LOL Funny, I like to drink my coffee strong with a little milk. But I like to vape it like a kid likes coffee - full of cream, sugar, and very little coffee LOL

My real coffee and coffee vapes tend toward the sweet and creamy. I'm a caffeine addict, but gotta have the bitterness well-disguised. A "double-double" I guess they call it in Canada...plus a packet of hot cocoa or couple shots of Torani coffee flavorings. All sugar-free - Sucralose actually tastes great to me in coffee and food, just not vapes.

Only occasionally will I use cream and sugar to "fluff up" my coffee, and that's usually in the afternoon. First thing in the morning I want that full coffee "blast" to kick me right in the head. Hence my love of FA Espresso.....;)

I absolutely love German Flavors' mocha, just like vaping coffee grounds. Perhaps a drop or two of FA espresso with it and I wouldn't even need coffee in the mornings. :D

Thank you for all your excellent advice! I'm reading up a lot on diketones and other undesirables also. I wanted to do proper due diligence before investing my time and money on making garbage. I expect to create a lot of that but minus the poisons...lol
I have ordered most of my FA and Capella flavorings from Mama's and I learned that from reading your posts and recipes! My first order has a lot of creamy, and sweet flavors too. I'm excited to start experimenting! I really appreciate your advice and if you don't mind me filling you in on my progress, I'll keep you posted on here

@HeadInClouds when you says make separate bottle 10% of holiday spice so it means 10% Holiday spice and 90% PG, right? Can I use 90% VG (instead of PG) to dilute Holiday spice to use in your recipe? Plz advice. Thanks HIC

9 ml of whatever plus 1 ml of Holiday Spice gives you 10 ml of 10% Holiday Spice dilution, @Elites. Or if you love the Old Fashioned as much as me, go ahead and do 2 ml of Holiday Spice in 18 ml of whatever. I reckon you could use maple syrup instead of PG if ya fancied.

Although I wouldn't recommend it. :D

@roulettegrl67, gotta say, you picked a mighty fine place to start! It's hard to screw up with HIC's notes under your belt.

retrox is right - you can use anything. I keep a bottle of unflavored ready-to-vape handy anyway, so that's what I use, but any combo of PG/VG is fine.

I have a purple cow sitting on my lemon pudding cake right now. Both are mixed fresh and I am not quite sure how to describe this...but it is quite interesting. I like it. It is sweet and tart and bakeryish. Mmmm, eating lemon pudding cake and swallowing it down with grape juice.mixed lemon pudding cake at a 50/50 blend and purple cow 100% vg. Look at me HIC! I got up to almost 75% vg. Without it being to sweet for me. This is a real peculiar combination. I filled my dripper with the lemon pudding and vaped and kept adding more purple cow to it again and again. That lemon pudding cake really holds its flavor well as I keep adding purple cows on top of it.

That's a combination that sure never crossed my mind, D. Were you one of those kids who mixed the breakfast juices to see how they'd taste? lol

edit: I just notice your new avatar. :) Perfect!
