What would be your top one or top 3 in each category ?
That would depend upon your personal palette to an extent. For example I am not fond of coffee vapes nor strawberry however HIC talked me into trying the Strawberry Mocha Frappuccino and I'll be darned, but it's excellent. It's not an adv for me, but very good. Recipes I have tried and can vape on and on...
#1) Lemon Pudding Cake (vape fresh)
#2.) Kokopelli cherry

Also excellent are Grapeade, Sweet Watermelon juice (vape fresh), Banana Pudding, German Peach Gummies, Frosted vanilla cupcake...the buttermint variation, Gingerbread...the fluffy variation...both Toucan and Rabbit cereal.

On my want list...Orange-Cardamom Bundt Cake, Pomegranate Turkish Delight, Peach Cider Pie!!

@HeadInClouds Is it possible to add a recipe to your inventory that you purchased in the past that isn't there? I have three recipes. Two are in my gumball recipe inventory. I logged in to the hics mixes site but it wants me to purchase the recipe. It doesn't show I own it? I would like it in my gumball iPad inventory.

I am here! No vacation for me - it's high-school graduation & college-search time for one of my kids! :vino:
I am so happy for you. I love celebrating my children's accomplishments. I was fortunate that a local college had a good nursing college. My first born just graduated in May with her RN degree. I can't imagine a child moving far away, and hope you are fortunate enough yours stay local as well as my youngest ones. Congratulations to your oldest.

It's been quite a while since I visited. I originally was looking for a unicorn milk clone for a co-worker, found a few and waiting for some flavors.
I read this entire thread over the last several days and impressed with HIC success. I knew that would happen from when I was DIY on ECF. Anyway I purchased 2 recipes, Gooey coconut cookies and Sweet watermelon juice. Anything with coconut is A++ in my opinion . I did make them both but only tried the watermelon so far. Can I up the percentage for the watermelon? It's good but not a juicy in your face watermelon to me. Mixed it 50/50. More fuji perhaps?
Thanks

You're best to just increase the total percentage rather than one flavor! So if, say, a recipe is a 7% total flavoring, I might increase it to 9% if I want a little more flavor.

If you like the flavor, I'd do it like I described in the "note" paragraph of that recipe (or a bottle half that size if you prefer). Then you can mix it any strength you want; 9% is "original strength", so maybe you'd use it at 12%. If that doesn't make sense, say so & I'll explain better.

I'm glad you came over here from the old place!

Hi everyone! Was thinking of a way to make Hic's Blueberry Coconut Smoothie work for me & I subbed with Mango & used Vienna Cream, otherwise followed the recipe.
Hic's Mango Coconut Smoothie! Yum, yum!:inlove:

Hello HIC,
I want to brew up some of your Tiramisu with Nona recipe however I'm unable to locally source the FA Jamaican Rum. I can get TPA/TFA Jamaican Rum, Flavour West Jamaican Rum and TPA Dark Rum. Which would be the closest alternative?

Kind regards

I think Jamaican Rum is one of FA's best. If you tell me where you are, maybe we can find a source. If you already know there's a different brand you like, no reason not to try it as a sub.

I haven't tried TFA Dark Rum. Anyone here have a comment on that one? (I personally don't recommend the other two you listed, but that's just my preference).

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna ask the local vendor who supplies FA to get some in for me.

Hi! I used 2% FA Mango just subbed. Instead of FA Catalan Cream I used FA Vienna Cream. Mines yummy!

Hmmm. I followed your lead, first 2% then 3%. Not quite getting the mango "tango" I was hoping for. It's my first use of FA Mango, so I'm down on the learning curve. More experimenting to do, but thanks. :)

Like most juices I find if you let sit just overnight the flavors seem to come together & work its magic. Lmk how it turns out.

I purchased Banana Pudding, Toucan Cereal, Dulce de Leche Churros, and Sweet Watermelon Juice. I've only mixed the Pudding, cereal , and watermelon last night.

My question is with the Toucan Cereal. It requires a small amount of the Forest Mix, and every time I use that stuff in ANY amount it completely takes over and gives me a harshish throat hit. I took a sniff this morning (mixed last night) and that's all I could smell, so I'm a bit nervous to try that one. Has anyone that has mixed this had any issue with the Forest Mix being over dominant or harsh? I don't see a shake and vape or steeping recommendation for it. May be that I just have a personal issue with the particular flavoring.

And a big thank you to HIC! I have been reading about your recipes for quite some time. I got into DIY about 6 months ago, and have tried my best to create concoctions myself and I suck. I admit it and am sticking to using others creations. I don't have the patience of pallet for it. So thank you again for making these available for us to enjoy. Banana pudding is rocking in my Merlin today!

PS...wth do I do with this 30ml of FA Spearmint that I purchased? Tastes great, but it's another flavor that takes over anything I add.

If you find that it overpowers try lowering the percentage of that flavour. If say you are doing .5% Spearmint, try .25%. FA is highly concentrated and Spearmint is very strong.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

I found that particularly recipe did benefit from waiting to vape after mixing - it became smoother and less sharp. I didn't find FF to be dominant over the other flavors though.

Thank you much AmandaD! I'll give it a good 5 day sit and give it a try.

And thank you much midknight420! I attempted the half the amount technique with it, and it still didn't work out so far I have gone down to .25% so I'll try even lower. It IS very strong, and I want to get a good starting percentage so I can try it out this Chamomile extract with it that I have been sitting on for a few months. Lower and lower I will go!

How many mils are you making at a time?

It mixes even better with more space:p

Alright you convinced me, I'll give it another try. I only did it once and threw it out because I was worried I'd get a nice chokey not mixed well vape. I judge how well it's mixed by the density of bubbles while shaking, can't seem to get lots of bubbles while shaking 10 mils in a 30 mil bottle.

You don't need bubbles - you just need it to mix LOL

Welcome to our happy place!

HIC has a recipe collection that uses FA Spearmint, Hic's Pink Sunrise Mojito it's recommended usage is .25 - .50% that recipe is delicious! Especially since it's right in season.

Thank you! Though I will be more of a mooch than an asset I'm glad to be in the happy place!

That sounds interesting...I've never used spearmint in a Mojito before. I always use fresh mint leaves, I now want to try that out. My wife really likes when I make Mojitos, so I will drink them in front of her since she cannot partake with a bun in the oven. I think it thoughtful of me to let her watch :).

As far as HIC's collection, I am going to have to look into that as well! I must have skipped right over that one. I like the cranberry lime digs there. Going to have to wait a bit though, I don't have the TFA flavors in the description and I just got in a $85 order last week from Bull City. I haven't been given a vape budget cap yet, but with all the purchases I've made in the last month I'm sure one will be presented to me soon.

When your vape budget recovers you've gotta try it since you enjoy Mojito's. Well that's just mean lol! Especially if it's hot out, just joking! $5 for the recipe you get 4 recipes. Pink Caddilac is one of the other juices in the collection, it's also very good especially this time of year. Let me know how you like it when you try it.

Some of us taste certain flavors more easily than others, but most people agree those are both pretty strong ones. I always recommend making a small batch the first time for any recipe, so you'll know if you want adjustments before making lots of it. Spearmint is one that tends to fade over time, so that's something to take into account, too.

This recipe uses more spearmint than any of my others: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-doublemint-gum.1821/. Still, 30 ml of that flavoring means you won't have to buy more for quite a while. It's really good in (actual) hot cocoa or tea, too!

My very first 100 ml of DIY mixing after around 3 months into this awesome hobby aspect of vaping. And the honour goes to Bora Bora White.

Does anybody have any ideas for FA Monsoon?

I think I made it standalone @ 3% & it was way sweet. I will try it at 2% to see if it's toned down some.

Any ideas for use in a recipe? I also got it in 30ml & don't know what to do with it.

FA is very strong (concentrated), you should start at 1% or 0.5% and adjust from there.

Awesome, thank you! I'll give that recipe a shot, I do enjoy the spearmint flavor by itself. Just want to get it mixing friendly. I always forget that these flavors were originally made for candies and such, I bet it would be great in some hot chocolate. My wife likes to experiment when she's baking by dropping some of my flavorings in her cake icing.

Let me know how you like it when you try it.

I certainly will!
