HIC, you had me at sugary. But tart is another key word for me. wink wink.
Marzipan, on the list.

Thanks for the responses guys, guess not all vanilla custard is created equal. Live and learn... thankfully, its still an enjoyable vape. (Unlike some of the other experiments I got in the cupboard:)

I tried this recipe as posted. Enjoyed it emensely. Got my final warning at work about vaping. So I decided I would try to make some vaporless juice for work. Being as I liked this recipe I used it as a starting point. End result was very good. Not quite as good as the original recipe but vaping at 45 watts on my zephyrus I hold it vape for about 5 seconds and there is virtually no vapor but good flavor. looking forward to trying some other recipes that will convert well.

Just do a double take if the boss comes in and your fine.

Well, that's interesting! High PG and water?
Exactly right.
In the past I played around using water and vodka in various percentages but without great success. Now I use a scale or drops to mix and it is much easier to control the results. I used 6% R.O. water and 100% PG. Gonna mix up some of your lemon pie today (one of my favs) hopefully it is as good. It seems when diluted with water certain flavors are more predominate than others so a bit of adjusting would seem to be in order. It's funny a year ago I focused on just making something that was tolerable. Now with the knowledge that I have aquired from the generous members of this board. (and flavorart) I can grab a few flavors from my collection whip up a batch of juice and there is a 75% chance that either my wife or I will enjoy it.

What's your recommendation for me guys as I can't go more then 30% PG (all flavors have PG) so if I want to use in the office what will be your advice? How much I should use distill water and PG? Thanks in advance

This was my first attempted HIC mix and first all FA flavors used. I must say this rocks!!!! Sweet & creamy just how I like. I will definitely bump up the sweet factor. Thanks HIC :)

Oh one quick question, when I add more flavor does it offset my vg to pg ratio? Lets say I add more flavor to a 60vg to 40pg. Will it stay or change?

@southern_heat Yes it does effects your pg/vg ratio for example if you have 30 pg ( which has 10 flavor +20pg) and 70 vg when you increase flavor, let say 5% so your pg vg ratio will be change as 35 pg (before it was 10 flavor +20 pg now +5 addition of flavors) and 65 vg (before 70 vg now -5 vg). Hope answer the question. Thanks

This recipe is so good as written, love it... I did put a couple drops of fuji in a 10ml batch just to try, and yummers. I'm new to using FA, but it sure is good stuff. The flavors are so accurate. This fuji is like biting into a crisp red apple.

HIC's Sugary Almond-Apple Tart
recipe (rich, sweet almond pie crust... and sweet apples):

4% FA Apple Pie
2% FA Marzipan

That's it! Shake and vape...and vape..

This might be my favorite pairing ever! The main flavor is sugary, rich, almond-y pie crust. The toasty almond in Marzipan mingles with the rich crust of Apple Pie. Marzipan is a sweet flavoring that makes the apples taste sugar-glazed. Absolutely a gourmet flavor - from just 2 ingredients!

variations I've liked

* add 1% FA Custard to add an almond-cream background (my favorite)
or
* add 1% FA Amber for cider-y apples (my other favorite)
or
* add 1% FA Brandy to make it boozy and cut the sweetness a bit (also tasty)
or
* add 1% FA Jamaican Rum to make it boozy and keep it sweet (for Rum fans)

Interestingly, if you reduce the flavoring by 25% (to 3% Apple Pie + 1.5% Marzipan) the sweetness and pie crust are even more dominant. So if you love the sweet, rich crust, and you don't mind a little less flavoring, try it like that.

Try a slow exhale for extra rich flavor, or a quicker exhale for extra sweetness.
This recipe is especially great using a device that delivers warm vapor.
The FA Amber, is that a sour/tart flavor?

The FA Amber, is that a sour/tart flavor?

FA Amber = FA Liquid Amber = "the fermenter". It's the flavor that apple cider has and apple juice lacks. Not tart, but you could say it's a little sour. It changes the character of fruits to taste either cider-ized or bubbly-baked. It's almost cider-vapin' weather...

I accidentally mixed this with a tester bottle of joy@3% and it was super sweet awesomeness! I refilled my tank with the wrong bottle.

Its funny cos all my life I've hated Marzipan , Probably stems from me as a child eating it in a wedding cake. But since trying HIC's recipes i love it.

That's a good point! I still don't like real marzipan or torrone, but those are two FA flavors I love to mix with - mmmmm!

Aah no marzipan. Fa almond and torrone though... Do you think that would work? Haven't really played with either of those flavored yet.

Neither one would be bad, but they wouldn't taste like Marzipan. FA is the real expert of almond flavors. They're all different.

Well, I went ahead and tried it last night. Pretty good. Different than what I usually mix up. Marzipan will be on my next order so I can experience this beauty in its natural state.

Been vaping this for a while...very good.

Added my own twist for a raspberry tart. Add a little cranberry (for more tart) & raspberry to taste. I like big bold flavors so I added 3% FA Raspberry & 1% TFA Cranberry.

Tastes just like:

Ok gave it a couple days still tastes great but is just too tart. Any input on how to calm it down with one of the two flavors I listed I have on hand and what % to add?

Thanks for this recipe HIC. It is so delicious I find it hard to put down. I am very green when it comes to DIY but your experience is getting me results instantly. Now seven weeks off the cigs and your recipes are now saving me a fortune! This and lemon meringue so far! Loving it. I will be purchasing from your site soon. So glad I found this forum!

This is incredible, just mixed it and can't stop vaping. I made it with 1% custard and not sure i'd even try it without it cause it's so damn good. Thank you HIC.
I agree, made mine with the Custard which gives it just a touch of tartness. I vape this when the lemon fades using HIC Lemon Meringue Pie and after a few minutes the lemon comes back to my taste buds!

Well hell... we already bought groceries and paid all the bills, so even if I did just order $62 worth from ECX, I think I can probably do one or two more. Heh.. the DIYers version of shinyitis. :D But I love pretty much any kind of apple pastry, so I gotta try this. I have both FA and TFA apple pie flavors; anyone have any comparisons between the 2 to offer? I also just got some Inawera shisha golden apple from e-aromashop, and I've heard that flavor is more baked-apple than fresh-apple, so it might also make a good addition.

So, off to find some FA marzipan. :D

I'd recommend trying this exactly as listed to start with. You won't regret it. I loved this right off the bat.

Oh yea and add the 1% FA Custard from HIC's variations.

Soooo good!

One good thing is if you get the FA marzipan it is used in "Sully's Sweet berry Mash" listed on this forum also and it's great!

P.S. 1% TFA vanilla custard rounded off the tart for me on this and it's rocking now;)

If you guys like this recipe you've got to try HIC's Cranapple tart from his recipe book. It's hands down my favorite mix right now save for the hand full of his I haven't made yet. These two are definitely my go-to's throughout the day now.

Except "forest fruit" probably includes both blackberries and raspberries, and I HATE both; no clue what an "oba oba" is, so I don't have that, and I don't have any marshmallow either, since I don't really like that taste.

And as for cran-anything... I'LL PASS! Cran is much too bitter to be anything but medicine, for a UTI. :D

I can count the number of fruits I actually LIKE on my fingers, and have a few fingers left over. :D

Trust me, TFA Cranberry is the farthest thing from bitter. I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried it. It's all the sweet without the bitterness.
