Higher vg more flavour or longer steep?

Hi peeps been awhile! Aint needed to post anything for some time but the thing whats bothing me and always has done since doing diy is different vg ratios. The old theroy is the higher vg the more flavour needed. But some say now it just needs steeping longer? What are your thoughts?

Higher vg = more steeping or needs more flavour whats your experiences in this. Iv got some custard testers steeping in different ratios but its gonna be some time till i know and iv got mixes sitting there what needs mixing lol

Certain flavors, like custard, need time to steep, period, doesn't matter VG or PG.
And some other flavors blend in a bit better with some steeping time too.
Heating some will also help blend the flavors faster, not too hot though.

I just steep it longer for bigger batches. I'll add more flavoring to small botlles if I don't want to wait.

Ok cheers so what i mean is if i make a bottle of say caps custard or a fruity vape one at 50/50 one at 70/30 would you say you get more flavour of the 50/50 or would it be the same? Im kinda getting mixed results or its my taste buds playing tricks lol

IMO, theoretically PG mixes faster because it is less viscous and the flavor can suspend more easily in the solution. In higher VG mixes it should be harder to mix the flavors. I like 75/25 ratios, with 80/20 being my norm. I mix for a friend with a PEN who prefers 70/30. In all three ratios, peaches and cream(11% sweet cream, 9% peach) is really good after an hour, custard (Caps V1, 15%) is good after about 6 days. From what I see it's not just just the mixing, or the VG/PG ratio. Something in the flavor profiles in certain flavors changes after being mixed.

I think some of the higher/max vg mixers will sometimes say the need just a little more flavor compared to a 50/50 blend. The thing said a lot is that pg helps to carry the flavor.

Personally I havnt had issues with 30pg/70vg mixes. But I really stay at that ratio for personal preference since pg bothers my throat a little.

HIC is a max VG mixer and looking at his recipes he rarely goes over 8% total flavor. Then again he has a super palate. I personally don't notice a difference between 50/50 and 30/70 using the same flavor percentages.

My friend is a max VG user, and I'm usually a 50/50 user. We DIY using the same flavorings at the same percentages and they seem about the same to me. I don't think there's that much of a difference as long as both are well mixed. So I guess I cast my vote with Bucky.

I think higher PG %'s does make a difference when the equipment isn't the best for flavor. For example, I have the Cthulhu v2 and while I really do love this tank it was just so so in the flavor department. It wasn't untill I made myself a 50/50 blend that the flavor from that tank started to be respectable.

As a max VG vaper and given the either/or choice, I'm in the longer steep crowd.
