If I were to buy, say a gallon of pg and VG where would be the best place to store it. Is a cool dark place acceptable?

So transferring to smaller more manageable bottles with no air space would be a good idea then I would guess. When I say if I were to buy, what I really meant was I just ordered it and realized storage might be a problem lol. They have a sale at essential depot. 60$ for a gallon of each with free shipping. I couldn't pass it up. Especially considering it was gonna cost 30$ at MFS's for a liter

When I bought a gallon of each early last year I broke them up and stored them in the freezer. There was an expiry date on both bottles, and I wasn't sure I'd use it all up by then!

Will it keep past the expiration date if it's kept in the freezer?

Just a typical DIY'er :p

I asked over at The Other Place and was told it would. I think I'm almost at that date on the PG, and it seems fine to me. It does get extremely hot here, though, so I didn't want to take a risk. I just keep a working bottle out, and refill from the freezer. It does need a bit of time to warm up - the VG in particular.

I may have also taken over my wife's home office, lots of locking cabinets and desk drawers. I'm so glad you took over my personal office space!... Said no wife ever...

Yeah I would imagine that VG would get super thick in the freezer.

Thanks everyone, I feel a lot better about a very unresearched bulk purchase made at the spur of the moment. I was cussin myself out for a moment.

All the above is great info. Putting it into smaller bottles is a wise choice. One of the ways to keep it longer is to minimize how often it's exposed/opened. An unopened bottle can last for many years in a dark/cool spot.
