Oh trust me the 30 year olds are the same way also. I've been smoking since 15 years old. Thank goodness I found vaping. I can breathe much better and my teeth are much cleaner and breath also. And the flavors out there are amazing!

Us old people vape ninja style. You usually will not see us, and if you do see us you will not know what we are doing. We're so good you may not even see this post.

I think most of the early adopters, 2008 - 2011, started vaping for health reasons and were likely middle aged and older. Most of the interested people I turned on to vaping had existing or potential health issues that drove them to seek out the vape. As it had little "coolness" in the early times, we just discretely vaped, and many of us still stealth vape in public places. Invisible, but vaping right next to you...

Amen! It's sour and nasty and.....UGH. I've apologized to my husband many times for ever smelling like that...

I rewashed my entire closet when I realized how bad the smell was.

One thing that always puzzled me is the amount of vapers over the age of 30 on this forum, because never once had I seen an older adult vape until yesterday.

The reason I am suprised about seeing older vapers is because older adults generally tend to be conservative and dismiss things like vaping as opposed to smoking. My grandma smokes almost 3 packs a day and refuses to even try my vaporizer because its "bad for you". Yes, its probably bad for you, but definitely not nearly as bad as smoking.

Yesterday outside of a strip mall I saw a man in his mid 50s using a spinner and a protank. That was the first time I've ever seen anybody vape other than someone around my age (19). It surprised me a lot. And today, outside of work I saw my 60 year old coworker pull out a fancy mod. I dropped my jaw.

These have still been the only adults I've seen vape though. I saw my chain smoking uncle using a cig-alike once, but I'm not counting that because he gave it up after an hour.

Obviously, there's going to be older adults on this forum because they are out there somewhere and some must find their way to this forum, but I want to know how many adults age 30+ actually vape outside of this forum. Pure curiosity. I'm not being ignorant and assuming no older adults vape, I'm just wondering why I never see them.

Hopefully this thread has dispelled some of the myths and illusions you have about people and age.....' "older adult generally tend to be conservative and dismiss things like vaping.'" It was the older guys who made vaping an industry...it was old guys who had smoked for 20..30...40 years and were looking for anyway to quit or miniumize the damage of smoking that bulit vaping....the tattos and the cloud chasing, and the captian crunch e juice came later.
Most of the "old people" you know have done far more wild ass shit than they will ever admitt to .....seeing as they have had more time on the planet to do it....

I'll admit that the 60's and 70's were a little before my time (born in 66) but I saw enough as a kid that it certainly influenced my activities as a teen and young adult

I'm about to be 43. I smoked since I was 13, not counting a few time periods I tried to quit. As mentioned in a previous post, I noticed what cigarettes were doing to me in recent years and finally had enough of it. Aside from that, I just got married a year ago and that kind of changed my mindset a little. I don't just think about me, but now my family. So, I started vaping to cut back on smoking if nothing else. I didn't really have the mindset that I was going to quit but as it turned out, I have. No cigarettes in over a month now and I feel better than I have in years. The added bonus is, my career over the years has been in the electronics field and I love to repair/build things. This is the perfect hobby for me as it turns out.

Yheap, quit that day. I had to take a forced retirment in '04, service connected issues and a work place accident coupled with an active and aggesive lifestyle I was pretty beat up. Bordem about killed me and bad habits didn't help. We worked on getting me back together and to move on, she went to work for the first time in 30 plus years. It took years, but I'm much better now, I restore old cars, keep house, learned to cook so I keep occupied. I'm a work in progress.

Well with PTSD you can be pissed off for decades. The OCD helps in automotive restoration. Some you win, some you lose. I just keep kicking, not as high but still kicking.

I'm pretty anal about spending money on myself, so she has to push me out of my comfort zone. And if she dropped 300 "no biggie".

I try to be fair with the hubby. If I look at him and say "I owe you $40" he just smiles and says "okay" because he knows I've bought myself something vape-related. He likes the "mad money" to run with and he knows I never spend that much. I do see a lot of pretties I'd love to have, but he knows I'm tight as Dick's hat band when it comes to spending. He's never said a word about one dime I've spent on vaping because he's so happy I'm not smoking anymore.

You're a walking alphabet soup of disorders........I avoid all that by not letting them examine me......although many people I've known have been kind enough to offer their opinions on my mental health.....usually they don't burden me with the technical jargon and just call it ....."you're a f**king obnoxious crazy a**hole......" Their treatment usually involve some sort of violent invasion of one of my bodily orfices, which usually I decline, but they assure me it's the only treatment that would work on me.

Remember denial is not a river in Egypt, but when everyone is out to get you, paranoia is just good thinking. I was really a giant asshole with people along with self-medicating. I'm easier to live with now, especally with myself.
