Thanks to UncleRJ for touching on this in another topic. To wit: he thinks 1ml = 1 analog pack isn't an accurate conversion.

I have actually seen that formula stated here and there by various people on the internet, with the caveat that everyone vapes differently. Also the amount of consumption is dependent on other factors such as juice PG/VG, voltage input, one's emotional condition, etc.

I was a pack a day smoker, and at the beginning, the 1ml - to - 1 pack ratio fit my vaping pattern. However, as I've changed devices, tanks, and altered my PG/VG from 70/30 to 60/40, I believe that I have gone up to 2ml per day. At times, conditions at work have "inspired" me to vape even up to 3 - 4ml per day.

Believe me, I'm not keeping a written log of my vaping habits - although doing so could be a good idea - but keeping an eye on different factors has helped me figure out which hardware performs more efficiently and what to target for future purchases.

Regardless, sometimes I worry that while I've dropped my nicotine level from 18 mg to 12 mg, my overall consumption may have actually increased.

How about the rest of you ... any of you in a similar situation? Any thoughts/suggestions?

4 to 5 ml through my kafuns and other tank devices. Up to 10 ml if dripping all day
The formula to convert amount vaped compared to smoking is:
Take the milligrams of nicotine per milliliter figure from your e-liquid (6, 12, 18, or 24 for example) and multiply it by how many milliliters of e-liquid you go through in a day.
Now divide that figure by 3.3 This will give you an approximation of the equivalent number of cigarettes that would have been smoked to get the same nicotine.
Example:
I use 5 ml of e-liquid a day
It is 12 mg/ml
5 x 12 = 60
60
divided by 3.3 = 18.18 cigarettes
Its equates to me smoking 18 cigarettes a day, without all the bad.
This formula has been on a lot of other forums and most find it pretty accurate.

I'm normally around 2 to 4ml a day… Depends on the mix and how my day is going…

I vape more when the voices in my head want me to do bad things.. Seems to pacify them.

1.5 packs a day. Did kangar little pro tank thingies at 18mg. Killed 3 1300 batteries a day. Somewhere around 4-6 ml. But was still smoking 4-8 cigs a day.
Moved to a dripper at 2 weeks. Dropped to 6mg stopped analogs completely.
At this point I probably drip between 15 and 30 ml. A day.
Has my nic. Consumption increased? Dunno. I Don't even care, my cyanide, tar, etc etc consumption has dropped drastically so I'm all good with it.

This is kinda the same for me, at the 4ml mark. I must be the voice in Gargoyle's head. The one that says vape more. Stressful day, I vape about that. Less stressful day, just a tad less.

Based on Matt's calculations, I vape less than I smoked. That's very cool.

Thank you for this ... now I don't feel so bad about myself :D

At my peak i was opening up and starting on a fifth pack of smokes in a day, if i was drinking (and at my peak, i was always drinking - but that's a different story).

When i switched, i was smoking about 1.5-2 packs per day.

I'd say i go through around 3-4ml @ 18mg now, at a very rough estimate, based on the capacity of my Kayfun and Taifun, which i alternate between (though usually favoring whichever is producing the better throat hits), and how often i fill them.

Between 3 and 5 mls per day. Depending on my activity level. I don't need to vape nearly as much as I needed to smoke. So if I am busy, I can wait and vape later. Been vaping about 2 1/2 years now and I was a pack ++ a day smoker for 33 years. :)

Anywhere from 15ml - 20ml a day, at 0mg - 6mg depending on what part of the day it is/stress level, because all I really do anymore is drip at lower resistances. If I didn't DIY most of my juice and also work at a brick and mortar I'd be fucked haha. I was a 2 pack a day smoker for a little over 9 years before I started vaping in August of last year. The ONLY time I vape less than that is if I only use my kayfuns or Russians that day, which is getting more and more scarce. They just don't scratch that itch for me like they used to.
