Warning: Spoilers for HBO's The Leftovers follow...
While we here at IGN TV loved HBO's The Leftovers back in its first season (ranked high on my Top TV Shows of 2014 list, in fact), it wasn't exactly universally adored. The series left some viewers as cold and adrift as the world of the show itself - one in which 140 million people vanished without a trace one day, with no rhyme or reason.
Those who were fans however loved the risks, the emotion (even as depressing as it could be), the performances (Carrie **** became a standout), the music (Max Richter's superb score!), and the underlying tale of a man scrambling to keep both his town, his sanity, and what was left of his family together while living in a perpetual powder keg.
