On another thread the question was asked about the meaning of a word:
"Please forgive an old man. Does "hack" mean acquire the means to change a device, or simply change it's parameters of use?" (The discussion was about how to modify the sx330 v3 chip to go up to 100watts)
And so as I sought to answer the polite question I thought about how the meaning of words have changed over the years. I jokingly said we should start a thread and get folks to add to it.
SO.. I will start with a couple...
I once heard an old guy describing an embarrassing mistake he made. He said and I quote, "Boy I sure pulled a boner!" (I about fell out and wet myself.)
"Bad" used to be bad. Now it is good.
"Sick" used to be unhealthy, now it is actually awesome
Fat (actually Phat) doesn't mean overweight.
