Hyperloop Technologies made several big announcements today, as the company takes steps to build a new high-speed transportation network.
First, the company has changed its name to Hyperloop One to coincide with a propulsion open-air test (POAT) in North Las Vegas tomorrow. Co-founder and chief-technology officer Brogan BamBrogan announced plans to have a full-scale Hyperloop test, called "Kitty Hawk," sometime in Q4.
Hyperloop One has secured a second round of financing to support its business. This round of venture capitalist and equity investors includes 137 Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Fast Digital, Western Technology Investment, SNCF, the French National Rail Company, and GE Ventures.
