I actually forgot how good a mech can be!

I can't believe this, but I am happy about it.

I own a few mechs, a lot more regulated mods though, and recently have been using my 26650 mechs and enjoying them, but not finding them as good as a regulated mod-until today.

I remembered I had a dual parallel mod due to a thread on here, the Abaddon, and dug it out of a bag.
It was my most unused mech.
I put on my hexagonal steam crave RDA, with a fused clapton in, just at 0.45, not super low, and all I can say is WOW.
I am getting the most instant power out of any of my mechs, the fused clapton is heating straight away, and chucking loads!

I know that this would not work, but I checked anyway-I checked I had not accidentally put the batteries in series due to the speed it is heating, the vapour it is chucking, and the flavour.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get my other mechs, such as my Nemesis's, my all copper angel, and my 26650 mechs working as well as the abaddon, or as close to as possible? I understand it may only be a as close too, not as good performance, but anything to make the others work better would be fantastic.

I understand battery safety, Ohm's law, safely building, as I learnt all of this when I started to use regulated mods, I started building pretty much as soon as possible when I got my first mod last year.
If I could get my other Mechs working anywhere near as good as this though, I would be very, very happy indeed.

So really, I know a bit, but is there any way you can think of that I can improve the performance of my other mechs? Or is it due to the abaddon being a dual parallel mod? I can't think why, as it still is 4.2V(I know being dual parallel safe amp load gets an increase, but I am pulling under 10A, and that is at 4.2V), but it works so much better than my others.

Thanks to anyone that can help,
Conan.

Anyone? I have checked the 'sick clouds bro' thread, but I can't find anything on I am thinking along the lines of what is best to clean my mechs with, such as cleaning dirty connections?

Thanks to anyone that can offer advice, on what would be best to use,
Conan.

Clean contacts in the switch, and 510, plus a good battery like the VTC4. I like dual parallel builds, but one of my fave's is a dual Tiger Coil build in my Doge V2 at .18 or .2. Heats instantly on my copper Fuhatten and produces loads and load of vapor that is both flavorful and thick.

Thank you for your help-what do you recommend cleaning the contacts with? Do you use a solvent, or just simple soap and water, and allow to dry?

I have some VTC4's, so I can use them, I also have some tiger coils I am yet to try, but dual coil should come out around that resistance, I will check on my ohm meter first though of course.

I recommended "Bar Keepers Friend" in the other thread. You can use plain old vinegar or lemon juice to remove the oxidation from the switch contacts and clean the 510 threads/510 positive contact(s).

Thank you. I will use some vinegar on the contacts on my mechs, as I have that to hand-I will look into Bar keepers friend online, should be able to get hold of some.

Makes a change from using regulated mods all the time, and I am enjoying the experience more so than before. I have a different opinion on mechs to what I did just a few days ago-and it is a good one :).

I use Ketchup/Toothbrush and a Brass Wire Brush to clean all my contacts and Metal pieces...it works insanely well.
With a Tube you want to rock out around .12-.15 for the best results-make sure your using 25R's, HE2/4's, HB2/HB6's!

IF your pulling off claptons then use thinner outer wire, 38g and higher, this removes ramp up time but still gives you the wicking properties and a smoother glow across the coils.

I love Mechs!

Nice collection man :). I only own one of them, the Abaddon, my other mechs are tube mechs, a Corsair 26650, a Tree of life 26650, 2 nemesis's and a all copper angel 18650 mod.

Ketchup-I forgot that could be used to clean things up! This is pretty cool-all things I have in my cupboard to put on my dinner I can use to clean my mechs lol.

Around .12-.15? I understand this is getting into pulse territory isn't it, I own many 25R's and HE4's, so am glad I can use them, I own a few Sony VTC4's that are genuine, but have loads of the former batteries.

I really like your mech to the right of the Abaddon, and also the silver one in the middle of the top photo-what devices are they?

Thanks for your help :).

If your using 25R's or the other batteries listed that is just at they CD limits you would want to stay at or above. this is where I find the best possible vape from a Tube though, a pair of 2 x 24KA1/38N80 Fused Claptons (6 Wraps/3mm ID) is my preferred build.

On the Left of the Abaddon is the Noisy Cricket and to the Right is the Full Brass El Diablo Mod, The Silver Box is the Hammer of God V1-I actually had to search out and pay some money for that one since its a out of production mod and there's only clones left of it. Still missing the Lethal Box and Warlock Wooden Box from these pics...

OK, I don't tend to vape at a super high wattage, so 20A I should be able to get plenty of what I want :).

Thanks for letting me know what you find works the best.

That is the one I like a lot, the brass El Diablo, it looks really nice. Also the hammer of god V1, shame to hear that is out of production, I am glad you managed to get one though.

Do you prefer vaping on a mech or a regulated mod? Or do you enjoy both the same?

All the best, Conan.

You can pick up that Brass Diablo from Fasttech...Its one of the only places that have it, I usually buy Authentic boxes but there are a couple I am willing to get clones of only because they are made of what I want them to be made of.
Next will be the Full Copper Dimitri and El Cabron.
For now I love the Mech vaping, a regulated mod cannot duplicate the smooth power on and off and it seems easier to vape on. With regulated the power isnt sloped on, its full on from when you hit the button and with some builds thats not what Im looking for.

Im actually into Series Mods right now also....Its like vaping a .08 on a Parallel box but easier on your batteries..

according to steam-engine..

at 4.2 Volts .21 is 20 Amps. .14 is 30 Amps

.12 (35Amps) on a 20 Amp batt seems foolish to me. I know folks do it, but seems like the battery is going to fail at some point?
even at 3.6 volts its still 30 Amps

The 25R hold up to 38A without damage, it may get hot but bhy the time it does it'll be time to change the battery either way. Batteries fail when they are over stressed beyond their initial limits. Check out Mooch's charts and information on the batteries I recommended. Ive done foolish builds with the 25R (.075) that most would deem insane and those batteries are still performing well without any noticeable decrease in capacity.

The batteries listed will be completely find at the .1 range as long as your not holding down the button for 30 seconds at a time....some of them are actually capable of that amperage and then some at CD. They wont vent or fail at this amperage discharge but its right at that line.
Just be sure to let them cooldown for 10 minutes after use and then charge them and then let them cooldown before using them.

Im not recommending anyone to follow my footsteps, I am a jackass, take my advice instead.

Makes sense, I'm totally new to mechanical so I'm pretty cautious. I haven't built a coil under .2 yet

you almost need to put that in you sig, lol.

running loads this low and working batteries this hard is the outer limits of vaping, it comes with it's rewards and possible disastrous consequences. if vaping was skiing,,,, a e-go would be a green run in bounds, and super subohming would be cliff jumping out of bounds.

as my old man used to say, "do as i say, not as i do"

Yea I was scared to build under .5 when I started lol.
Buy some LG HB6 Batteries and you wont have an issue building down to .09 on a tube and it only gets lower with boxes, its the ultimate high drain battery but I have alot of trust and confidence in 25R's, Ive never had one vent, even when it hard shorted for almost 10 seconds in my SMPL...I tossed it just because but it would still take a charge...which is CRAZY

yeah, HBs are the only thing I'm using in my SMPL (shout-out to liionwholesale) and I'm still a little gun-shy about building low. I suppose I'll get more comfortable with more experience

I dont suggest going lower then .1 on a Tube, the RDA/RTA just gets too hot and warms the rest of the tube too quickly. .12-.15 I find to be the perfect resistance for a Tube, anything lower I use a box just to dissipate the heat better. I like Brass Mods lately, Copper is nice but it seems to tarnish faster and wear easier. Brass hits just as hard as copper.

I've just been doing a simple 5 wrap 3mm 24gauge Kanthal dual coil. It reads at about .23 I think, and seems to vape okay

You realy have to stop doing that Ray. You know what I want now.
That Magma Reborn is insane, its one of my Top builder's RDAs...Its amazing how big you can make the coils but I kind of wish it didnt have the lip around the barrel's inside near the top...

I stay around 0.3 and only do singles. I use vtc4 batteries only. I am little hesitant to go under. I love the flavor and get plenty of cloud with that.

I did not realize I could build to 0.18 and be "safe".

I really enjoy fused Clapton's around 0.8-0.9 ohms on my Noisy Cricket with my RDA's, favorite being the Hatty by Blitz. Then around a 1.2-1.4 fused Clapton's in my Griffin on it. Incredibly awesome Vape.
