I have an idea...

So what's going on guys, first post here. But I've got a question for a potentially stupid idea... So I have a old SMOK M60 and a original E-Vic both of which the 510's went out. So I was thinking of using the M60 board and the Li-Po battery from the E-Vic and using a DIY housing and a new low-pro 510 to make a complete mod. Any suggestions or possible problems you guys could think of ?

I couldn't find anything about the evic battery voltage or a Smok M60, but I'm guessing the e-vix battery is a single cell if it's that small and 5000mah, so as long as it's the same voltage as the M60's battery it should work perfectly.
Also, depending how the 510s are broken, it may be as simple as just soldering a wire to fix them. Usually this is the case since the positive wire suffers metal fatigue and breaks in some mods with adjustable center pins.
If you need more in depth help putting the whole thing together, feel free to shoot me a message. I'd be more than happy to help!

It's a smaller batter, can't really tell if it's single or a 2 cell,I'm assuming one. I managed to finagle around with the 510 until I got it to fire. I'm figuring that the wire that was connected to the 510 was twisted and ripped pretty bad,so that's what was causing the check atty error on the smok.

As for the Evic, idk what the issue was there. At least the battery is still good,so that's a plus. And thank you for the offer of help. I'm pretty sure I will need the help when I get to that point. I just picked a Sig Fuchai from a person on here so I'm sure the build will put on hold for a little. All I need is a box,low pro 510 and some sort of buttons.

It happens, at least you figured one of them out. More than likely the other is the same scenario. Most 510 issues short of stripping or cross threading are usually fixed with a fresh wire and new solder. If you don't mind the connector it'd save you $8 or whatever for a new one!

Could you send a photo of the evic? A stock image would do. I didn't realize there was more than one evic device.
Also does the battery have any stickers or black text on it? If not an alternative to connecting it to a voltmeter or multimeter would be to just feel the exterior of the battery around the edges. If there are no obvious gaps its probably a single cell. I could probably tell you more after I know the exact device you have.

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Joyetech-eVic-VT-Temp-Control-Express-Kit-p/joye-vtl01.htm I have the original Evic, not the mini. Although its a Totally Wicked brand Evic, its a Joyetech product, apon take the battery out its labeled Joyetech and looking at it again,it's a single cell 5000maH battery. I'm going to try and get some bigger gauge wire and try and resolder the 510 and see if I can get a consistent fire. I know the Evic board is mostly done for,I wish it wasn't because I like the display better but whatever. I wish I could find the specs on the M60 device because I'd love to know the minimum resistance, which I believe to be .2.

I found this: http://www.joyetech.com/news/official-statement-of-evic-vt-battery/?age-verified=809cf3191a

Which confirms it's a 3.7v battery even If there are multiple cells, and from what I could find it looks like all of the Smok xpro devices used single batteries up to the m80 so it should be an easy swap. Also the M65(closest thing to M60 I could find info on) has a resistance range of .2-4ohms so I'd venture a guess that its .2. With a device like that it should just stop you from firing anything too low so it should be easy to figure out.
The board is a bit harder to fix depending what's wrong, but if it still functions in some ways it may not be too hard to find the component causing the problem.

All in all,I should be good I think. The Evic board is done from what I've gathered, but using the SMOK 510 I got it to fire. I'd rather get another 510 and be safe all in all. I'm thinking either a FDV's or a Low-pro 510 and I should be good. It should be a good build even with the M60 board,I rarely build below .35-.4 anyways and the battery should result in good life battery wise. Even though I struggle with a full battery all day on my Basen 3400 @ 50-60w I usually have to swap batteries to around mid day.
