Interesting. I am no stranger to spending a couple hundred on a mod, but this one just seems to follow the trend of current Provape products of being lacking for the bottom line. Maybe there will be a good deal on a used or a blem if my interest level changes.
I know where you can get a good a deal on a beta p3 :) lol

What the hell? A huge Provape thread and no troll responses? An intelligent thread... No troll. Is it the Provarapocalypse?

Things I have to continually remind myself, about why I shouldn't by a Procyon...

- I'd have to lug spare batteries around with me again.
- I wouldn't be able to use my new found love of TC with SS.
- I'd constantly be taking a toothpick to the awesome looking Mayan art bands engraved around the tube, to clean out dust and pocket lint.
- I'd have click the button a gajillion times to adjust the wattage

But it's just so...shiiiineyyy, and puuuurty... ;)

If they didn't get me off cigs I wouldn't have even considered it. just like I told Santa Zen, 50w is 50w, it vapes as well as my stash of dna mods but its a 50w tube.
I do like the way it feels though, the finish is much more satin-like than the others.

I'd have to believe, that if I ever held one, I'd have to buy it. T'would be like grabbing the old weathered ball glove, or putting on the ancient sneakers...just feels right.

My only bitch about ProVape was their previous unwillingness to modernize. Never had a single quality problem. I just outgrew them.

I know what you mean; and, yeah there was that familiar feeling. BUT, to be completely objective. my dna200s can run EVERYTHING I have, this can run a few. I'm not bitching, I'm just saying.
also. - I would love to have been a fly on the wall when they were trying to get management to go for the deadly 50w

Looks like it could double as a nightstick. I was going to say something else but I didn't want to get

You buying this forced my hand at the Q. Got to keep up with the Jones's lol. Jk I am sure it is a solid device. I find the price tag to be bs though considering the market. Ideally I would like to see them lower the price down to say the 130-150 to dna200 range. At the current price they are still losing new customers and simply banking on the devout Provari owners imo.

all valid points, but, the more I use it, the more I like it. its comfortable, I used the 2.5 for th first 6 months that I was tobacco free. So, I see it a little diferntly.
don't get me wrong, the best vape ive ever had was the dna200/petri with fusd ss claptons at 75w.- is still my adv.

I am stoked for you man. If it feels right for you then it is a win. I know how much you dislike how Provari owners represent the product and for you to be enjoying it that speaks volumes towards the device.

My thinking is just skewed I guess. Don't get me wrong as I want the damn thing lol but I am simply hung up on the price of the device. For 2 bills other stuff is more appealing for me, but I do like the feel of a nice tube mod.

What I would really like is the the new dna 75 board to have the same foot print as the dna 40 board. That way I could upgrade my wae2 and have the benefit of the 75w in that tube along with escribe. I know it is a pipe dream as the 75 board will probably be more along the lines of the 200 board which is much to big for my desires, but it also just feels right in the hand.

I agree though, 130-150 would be bang on price point, the extra expense i'll eat for the nostalgia and customer service. its not provape owners themselves, so much as the snobbery. Yoe know pretty well on the forum, I have enough gear to open a shop, but not a single one is perfect.- that's vaping

but your thinking is not skewed at all.

the wae would make a killer shell for a 75w board... I don't know the footprint of any of them but does yihi make a board that would fit?

unfortunately yeah the 75w board will be the 200w board tuned down the 75w

That is an interesting idea. I had not considered other non dna boards, but it would be nice to give the wae a power boost as of right now it is a dust collector that I just can't part with for some reason.

ok this is a little different... considering its prorape, why would it be normal?

Variable wattage to 50w
votage limit 6v
amp limit 11.5

a quick show of my experience with the line, The p2.5 which I quit cigarettes with, the second rendition of the provari, 2.8v-6v variable voltage device with a 12w cap, the P3, a 20w tube mod and the Procyon a 50w tube. (prorape also has the radius that was a lot of fun to discuss)
22D597C2-4299-4390-95E2-A473692D0ECD_zpsgvxaj9ea.jpg

so, my opinion of the procyon:
in comparison to other prorape mods- Its their best work yet.
in comparison to the sxmini m class or my vaporshark dna2oo(both 200$ mods)- it falls short of features and innovation(understatement), it surpasses vaporshark in build quality(finish only) and ties yihi

Considering my all day vape is either 45w triton coil, an rda at 45w or 65w and 470 degrees with 80w preheat on my petri rda after it has been fine tuned on the dna this mod does suit a good portion of my personal vaping needs. For anyone whom it fits the same, I would advise taking a look at this in a serious way. Granted, the menu is still one button controlled, It's a tube, and does not have the vibrating feature yet or temp control.

what it does have going for it; is being a an exceptionally well built, well feeling, finely finished American made mod. There is ZERO ramp up or firing delay, the feel in the hand of the finish is very nice very well done and lightly textured, the threading is buttery smooth, and the mod is rather aesthetically pleasing, as well as making you know that you are holding a very quality built piece.

I have been alternating between a dual 24g build at 0.41 in my tugboat2, a single coil 22g 0.46 ohm build in the Narda rda, the 0.4ohm triton coil; and a single Clapton build in both the indestructible and tfv4. All have been run between 40 and 45 watts with the boost function employed. All have performed as well as I expected.

At 200$ this is certainly not a mod that I can suggest someone buy on a whim; but, rather do some serious research and ensure that this is something that you can and will use, it will fit your needs and you don't mind investing in. It is certainly NOT the pinnacle of vape technology like the sx or dna boards. It is also not an American made performance machine like the Hexohm. It is in fact what we have all heard from the fans, a well finished American made mod. If it does fit your vape style and you want a mod that is a good sturdy tube; then, I would highly suggest considering them.

As many of you know, I have been quite outspoken and critical of the prorape, However, I do not regret spending my money on this at all. It has much better battery life than I was expecting. I am looking forward to reaching for a P-thingie again. -I still plan to use the dna's, hex and series mechanical most of the time though

Still 50w just isn't enough for me to spend on a $200+ tube mod that only fires down to .4 ohms, which all my builds are .25-.3 max that I prefer.. and vape usually at least 65w+...more like 75-80w as I like vaping the Griffin RTA with a dual .25 24g Nichrome build for awesome clouds/flavor..all my current mods are 150-200w, fire down to .1 ohm and were under $100...some are a year old or more and still not missing a beat..if ProVape could build a single 26650 tube mod that had 100w and could fire down to .1 ohm I'd buy it, even at $200..just my 2¢ lol

Cool..the much shorter, RX200 is my work mod too..
001b28eeadaf11827e821eafc360685b.jpg

A hair taller than a 1865O batt, its super comfortable in the hand, dosen't fall over standing up on my desk, has 2O0w available and batts go for days on a single charge..best $45 I've spent on a mod in a very, very long time... Just sayin different strokes works for me on this one Tony,

that's the cool part of having options, the weight make it a total no go for me.... you have to remember, I need my hands to move, so a mod has to go in my shirt pocket all day, that's why the vsdna200 also works so well for me.
The radius didn't make any sense to me, but i do happen to like this one

so far so good, battery life is better with this at 50w than the p3 at 20w - they apparently changed the low voltage cut off, which is welcomed.

never thought I would fire a dual coil rda on a provari, but, it can definitely hang.

I am very excited to get this mod. Provari helped me quit too. I use my P3 quite a bit. I have other temp control mods so I think this would work for my grab and go mod. Thanks for the review!
