I've got a brand new Super Tank Mini and I've got a 150w mod, but my problem is I can't get rid of the coil taste. I'm vaping around 30w-60w. I've already primed the coil and I've tried 3 different juice flavors. So does anyone have any advice about getting rid of the coil taste? Thanks!

When you say coil taste, do you mean skunky or burnt? Are you using the .2 or .5 ohm coil? Either way, I would say first try a new coil. Also, what vg % are you using? When you prime it, drop 3-5 drops on the top of the coil where the mesh is. Then a couple drops on the juice slits. Throw it in the tank and let it sit for 10-15min. Then, vape @ 20-25 Watts for 1/4 tank and then slowly move up in 5w increments. I used the .2 ohm coils and around 1/2 tank left I'm up to my desired 70w.

It's sort of a skunky taste, I don't necessarily think it's a burnt taste. I'm using a .2 coil, do you think it would be worth trying to prime it again using your method? I had a good taste earlier when I first bought the tank today
Priming really is only for brand spankin new coils. The skunky taste should go away shortly. I notice it in this tank, but also w/ my Atlantis V2 and Arctic (the original, I don't have this problem with the V8). That taste should be gone by the time you finish the first tank.

That's probably the problem. With these coils, the cotton isn't able to keep up with chain vapes. When you have a chance, fake you're coil out and look down the shaft at the coil and cotton around it and see if you see and black. If you do, you'll need to replace the coil because the taste won't go away and it also prevents the cotton from soaking up the juice.

Yea. Take it out, look down the top (can use a flashlight if you need to), and see if the cotton in between the coil is black, not gray. I'm gonna see if I can burn a coil similar to the one your using to show you what to look for

You may have outrun the atomizer's wick's ability to wick juice and burned it.

Basically that the cotton isn't able to soak up the juice quick enough (the higher vg% the longer it takes), so when the coil heats up, instead of boiling the liquid, it is burning the cotton.
Also here's the pic of what to look for. Not the coil itself, but the cotton in-between.

Np m8! I would say stick to 70% VG and lower. If you do chainvape, 50% would be ideal. If you're stuck on that juice and vape frequency you probably would be better off with a different tank or if you're willing to build, switch to an rda or RTA.

The thing is, with how these (and also alot of other tanks') coils are made, is that the higher VG juice, cannot saturate fast enough to chain vape them. Switching to the .5 ohm will help a little as the coil will not get as hot as quick.
What you have to remember is that what is actually happening inside the coil head, is that the juice is soaking through the cotton, ultimately to your coils. Your coil can only boil the juice that's actually on the coil. So after you take a vape, your coil is dry (or somewhat dry). Your cotton soaks up juice until there is a bit of excess that "coats" the wire. If that cotton isn't saturated, the coil stays dry (thus the term) and instead of staying cool as it boils liquid, it gets hot fast and burns the dry cotton. Once burnt, juice cannot saturate that area of the cotton, so you will constantly be getting a bit of a dry hit on that section of coil. Eventually, you will burn through that cotton and burn the cotton around it which just Cascades from there. Higher VGs take a long time to travel through the cotton and with the small drip slits, it takes even more time.
Long rambling short , I would suggest dropping VG, getting a new tank that can handle that VG, grab a Griffin or Gemini RTA and build your own coils, get an rda (downside is no tank), or get some temp control coils and you'll never have to worry about a dry hit again.

For example: Examine the differences between the juice ports of an Aspire Nautilus BVC V2 atomizer (left) and that of a Tobeco Super Tank Mini (right):

Conversely: The one on the left can go down to 70/30, whereas the one on the right will hopelessly flood if you try that.

That's the problem. There's no way your going to be able to maintain a chainvape at max VG in either of those coils. The slits are far too small in order to get max VG around and up the coil.

Might be a little off topic but have to say nothing beats my Geekvape Griffin for chain vaping...with 4 big juice slots, dual coils and adj juice control I have never had even close to a dry hit..it outperforms my TVF4 with those big triple and quad pre made coils...I like to chain vape, and the Griffin does it perfectly...Top fill and wide bore delrin drip tip too...OK, I'm done,! Thx

Sounds like it's burnt. Toss it. I prime my coils by adding 5 drops of juice to it and let it soak in while I dry clean the base and other bits. I blow through the top of the coil til a little juice comes out the 4 holes, then I suck up a little and install. I take a couple of non powered dry hits. Then it's good to go,
