Hello.
so for the longest time i was riding on what i thought were vtc3 batteries. As i would build lower in ohms the fire button on my mechs would get burning hot to the touch, so i decided to investigate. Turns out all 12 batteries were fake as hell. They didnt have one cue, they had them all. The seam on the wrappers were sloppy, the print was crooked, the crease near the positive end looked more like a valley than a crease and the negative contact was not flat, it popped out.
so i went to vaporshark and got some lg he2s. They work good, but shouldnt be dropped below .22 ohm without crossing the safety line of 20 amp continuous discharge.
now i have a few that the wrapper toward the positive end is ripping, so its time for new batteries.
this is actually 2 questions:
1. How do i safely dispose of these batteries. I still have the fakes and the torn wrapper batteries in a box, becausr i dont know if i can just throw them in the garbage. Last thing i want is to put someones life at risk just by picking up the trash.
2. Anyone know of a solid and reliable place where i can get 30amp batteries? Id prefer not to buy efest im looking for vtc3 of vtc4 batteries.
thanks in advance for any responses with any insight.

Thanks for even wanting to do the right thing and recycle your batteries.

There are some companies like Batteries + and Ideal Battery where you can just drop them off.

Where to get an honest to goodness 30 amp battery, the Efest Purple batteries is not your answer, but this is...

http://www.lightningvapes.com/colle...-vtc4-3-8v-30a-2100mah-battery-flat-or-button

And if you want a good 20 amp continuous battery with a 2500 mAh rating, get one of these

http://www.lightningvapes.com/collections/batteries/products/samsung-inr-18650-25r-battery .

Great company to buy from and I think that "Ohm Sweet Ohm" will get you a 17% discount.

Check around, some computer places have a "Special Box" to dispose of your batteries! I know a few computer shops in my area do

Pretty sure any Best Buy will recycle them. We used to take all kinds of crap when I was a Geek Squad employee a few years ago.

The problem with the fire button getting hot is kind of battery related, but not.
Clean the contact area and put some silicone grease on it to exclude air.
The oxides produced from switch's make/break are resistive, so it will get hot.
The switch will weld itself temporarily depending upon what metals are used, heat conductivity, and how much heat is produced on contact points.
Some battery surge will make a good contact weld, but even after a while the area will get trashed and require burnishing.
ANyone who had a car that used points or works around relays knows this problem.
