Looking to buy a new charger for my 18650s. Any recommendations? Right now I'm looking at nitecore d4 or i4. Also if someone knows a site with a deal or a coupon that would be great.
rtdvapor.com - a lot of people will agree this is the best site for batteries/chargers.. great prices. ships same day or within 48 hours. but no codes that I know about. This is the only site I use for chargers, and AW batteries.
I just got the Xtar XP4 from them a couple weeks ago .. and I usually stick with Xtar because I've never had a problem and my original one from 2 yrs ago is still working like a champ.
I would recommend a efest LUC v4 or a xtar. I personally own a intellicharger I4 and 2 LUC's and the LUC is by far better. I do not use the intellicharger much anymore because I do not like the fact it has a global 1.5 amp chip that splits voltage between batteries so if I am charging 4 batteries they are only charging at .375 volts. IT also gets very hot when I am charging multiple batteries. The LUC has 4 independent chips and lets you charge at .5, 1amp and 2 batteries at 2 amps and has a nice LED screen.
It will run you about the same as a D4 in price. The D4 also splits current like the I4 unfortunately. You can pick up the LUC several places buy I got mine off ebay for 35 shipped. Several ebay sellers have it.
EDIT: Vaped got in before I hit enter so ill add the Xtar XP4 Panzer is a pretty good charger on the same level as a LUC I just like the screen that shows voltage on the LUC better.
VPI is a solid charger. You really can not go wrong with a xtar or a luc v4. It really comes down to layout and looks once you get in that caliber. I wall mount my LUC's beside my chair here so its nice to be able to look over and see the levels and pop a cell out of a mech in and see where my voltage is at if I feel the vape start to drop off.
I like my i4 & i2. But I have to admit, the splitting current I don't like. I try to avoid charging 4 batteries at once unless I know I'm good for awhile. Thanks jeep, I didn't know the luc had individual chips. You just sold me on one.
Np. I used to come home from work and would throw all my batts in in the i4 to charge over night but when I realized how hot it was getting it kinda stressed me out a bit. i mean all chargers get warm but like bugout said it really gets hot. Like I said I actually use it a fair amount to read voltage on batts. Sometimes when a coil gets well used the resistance starts to slowly creep up so that vaping sweet spot start to get shorter and shorter and it helps that I can pop a batt in and check the voltage to see if its coil changing time or just a batt running low.
I got an intelicharger d2 and I like a lot I had an i2 when I switch I felt like I found the greatest ....so I bought a d4 but I didn't know about the splitting currant so boo for me it in delivery ....
