hey guys. Anyone know if flavors labeled wg (wera garden) are the same as what recipes call for (ie. INW- raspberry, INW lemon mix) ?

Thanks !

Id just try to get a hold of the original poster of the recipe if they do not specify and make sure what they are using or just roll the dice and go for it lol

If it's unspecified, wera garden is a good bet for fruit. If the names of a flavor in different categories is exactly the same... dice. Maybe the author wasn't aware of the other flavors it could be mistaken for.

INW has different DIY flavor sub-brands. Many of them have their own version of a flavor, and sometimes, they're very different and sometimes not. If the recipe merely says INW, I would ask the OP to which one it's in reference.

If it's unlabelled, I would guess the concentrate, not the Wera Garden. WG fruits are, well, different. Some are good, some are flat weird.

There is only one Lemon Mix, and it's the WG one.

Raspberry, though... these days there's Koncentrat, WG, and Shisha...

And there used to be another one, which has presumably been replaced by the Koncentrat...

I would guess that's the one the chef meant, especially if the recipe was posted some time ago. Before the Ks and Shishas came along, if there was a choice, usually people would specify when they were using the WG version, but not for the other.

In my experience with Mango in one of my recipes, the Koncentrat version requires only 1/4 the amount, but that could be particular to Mango since the flavour (of the K) is different (i.e. it's not simply stronger). It's actually a better Mango flavour, but not what I wanted for the recipe!

I have an Inawera question, too. I have their flavor called, "Cherries", which I got based on some reviews I read months ago on ecf. (And also because the vendor I was ordering from didn't have FA Cherry). So far, I've only been able to successfully use it as an accent in an apple pie recipe--and there it works nicely. Thing is, it has only the barest hint of cherry with a distinct "red Christmas candle" fragrance. I almost want to say it's like balsam wreath with a hint of cherry--but that would be overstating it a little. It's just this side of perfumey.

So, my question is, for anyone familiar with this flavor, any ideas about how to use it to best advantage?

I'm planning on combining it with fa black and regular cherries in different amounts to try for a spicy cherry that still packs a cherry punch. But hints from those more experienced would be appreciated.

I never got the "Christmasy" overtone. perhaps a bad bottle?

Well, could be, I guess. It is rather weaker at 5% than i expected and despite the spicy smell, doesn't have much flavor. How would you describe it? Say, compared to fa cherry or black cherry--the other two cherries I have.

Try dialing it back to 2-3% and see what you get. I've never gone as high as 5, that may be an issue. I find it to be very "cherry" (sorry, just woke up and my adjectives escape me).
