Titan Comics has revealed that it will be releasing a comic book series that will act as a prequel to Independence Day: Resurgence.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comic does not have a name or a release date yet, but it will be "a rich psychological prison drama" set after the events of the original Independence Day.
Editor Steve White said that the comic will be "a golden opportunity to segue nicely into next year's blockbuster sequel by taking the mythos of the original and maybe adding a little darkness to it."
Independence Day: Resurgence is due for release on June 24, 2016. Titan Comics is also working on an Assassin's Creed comic book tie-in.
