iPhone Sales Fall For First Time in Thirteen Years

Apple has reported an almost 13 percent drop in quarterly sales, and confirmed iPhone sales have fallen for the first time since 2003.

In its quarterly sales statement (via The Guardian), Apple also confirmed iPad and Mac sales have also stalled compared with the same period last year -- 12.6m to 10.3m and 4.6m to 4m respectively -- contributing to an overall revenue fall from $58 billion to $50.6 billion.

The numbers here are still huge -- Apple shifted 51 million iPhones in the first three months of this year -- but with a 10 million drop compared to the same period in 2015, the company had warned investors ahead of the news, acknowledging iPhone sales account for two-thirds of Apple's revenue.
