iPV 3 or Sigelei 150W?

I am trying to decide whether to get an iPV3 or a Sigelei 150W regulated box mod. The iPV3 is 150W right out of the box but you can update it to go up to 165W, however, thats really irrelevant for me because I usually only vape at around 65W-80W.

What do you guys think I should pick? I will be using it with RDA's like the doge, mutation v3 and dark horse. I usually build 22g sleeper coils with 5-6 wraps and they come out to around .12-.15, so it will work on the iPV3 for sure because my friend has one and I have tested it but im not sure if that build will work on the Sigelei or not.

Any help and suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

The Sigelei will fire down to 0.1. I've got a Sigelei myself, the majority of my builds are around .15. Do yourself a favor, get the Sigelei.

They both use the YiHi SX330 chip. What device of the two has better a warranty and build quality? I would check out some reviews before Spending $$$ to make the right choice that fit my needs.

I would go with the Sigelei as I have developed a brand loyalty I guess.

I have had the 100 Watt for quite a while now and I love it.

And I have just added the 30 Watt Mini to my collection and I am totally digging that as well.

I purchased my Sigelei 100 Watt on eBay and after the purchase, I got an email offering to sell me a 3 year Square Trade (or is it Square Deal) warranty for $15. I jumped on that. You can also get a 2 year warranty for $10.

I would imagine that the same would apply to IPV devices as well.

Just one more thing to think about.

Well, the main issues are the ones i mentioned. But yeah, i just prefer the Siggy. Also, the silicone sleeve may seem like a small thing but that thing is genius.

all you mentioned was 'weird shit' happening with the charger and touch sensor.. what weird shit specifically are you talking about? lol

there were issues with the touch sensor when it was first released, which is why it's been disabled .. but there hasn't been any issues for either of the items you mentioned since they were first released - quite a long time ago

if the issues are still being reported i'm generally curious to hear them because my friend is about to buy one to step up from his ipv2

Well, the 9V charging thing was just dangerous, and having the non-working sensor still in the box is just odd? I dunno, the Sigelei just seems more refined and solid. Also i like the fire button on the 150w better than the one on IPV. But to each their own.

The touch sensor on the ipv3 isnt even hooked up, they did this for a safety issue .I have both these mods and id have to go with the ipv3 but to be honest as far as the sigelei firing lower, with this much power i dont need to build that low if i did id just use a mech.

Seeing how they are owned by the same conglomerate and are pretty similar to each other you will want to ask yourself. Which one is more aesthetically appealing, comfortable to hold, do you require magnets without modification, do you want to spend a few dollars less, or more?

I think either way you go you will be fine. Not that big of a difference between the two other than an upgrade and magnets imo. If you wait a month you could consider the ipv4 or what ever the Sig version of it is that gets kicked out shortly after the ipv4.

I have had my ipv3 since October last year and it is a reliable device for what it's worth.

I love my iPV3 and have had it since December with no issues. Only downside is screws for the battery door, not a big deal. If it were me, and I could wait, I'd hold off and see how the iPV4 shakes out. Let a month or so go by with them in the wild, and get that if all is good. I've already seen iPV3's for as low as $90, so I'd imagine that will be common once the 4 drops.

I really dig the iPV3, it has 3 months more of warranty through the same company as the Sig, too. I am planning on getting an iPV Mini 2, as well. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Nice purchase. The black one with a black silicone sleeve is my personal favorite. It's not small and having a single color scheme makes any other color seem like way too much. The size and boldness of the thing seems a little subdued when it's all black. Plus black matches anything so any atty looks good on it.

I went with the sig150, I am very happy with it.

main reason i went with the sig over ipv was the magnetic battery door on the sig, plus i like the looks better

I was in the same dilemma a few months ago but I went with the sigelei 150W. I have been loving it and haven't had any issues. My mech mods are sadly collecting dust. Two of my friends really liked mine and they went out and got a 100 watt plus and have been loving theirs. Just seems to be a solid, well built brand.

Now I find this very intriguing. I had a 30 watt sig and it fried within a month. Just burnt up inside. Got a replacement and that one did the same damn thing. Don't know if maybe it was just the 30 watt tube or what, but I have stayed far away from Sig since. My ipv's on the other hand, I have not had one issue with them. I have the ipv2 50 watt and the new 70 watt mini. I had the 30 watt mini and sent that off to someone. They have been and are all outstanding. I did the magnet modification to the door on my ipv2. It was super easy but I agree with you on that one, having to unscrew it was a PITA. That was the only thing about the ipv2 that bugged me. The touch sensor works fine on mine. Maybe I just got lucky?

I still love this wrap on my ipv2. It's the one that looks like a cassette tape in the back



I keep looking at the newer box Sig's and think maybe I should try them again just one more time.....I'm happy with my IPV's for now though so I will wait a little longer. I guess it just comes down to what each of us like best and we hope we don't get a lemon.

Shouldnt have any problems with using 25rs. all i use in my 150w.

That would never hurt, but the only ones really on the market that I would trust that high are Sony VTC4 from a reputable vendor.

I personally Run efest batteries rated to 20amps continuous and I just stay mindful of the limits

What Panther said. My buddy uses the samsungs in his sig 150 with no issues, but he never goes past 70w and usually doesn't go past 50w. Maybe having just one pair of vtc4's for days when you want to play with the mod's upper range would be good.

I can't speak from experience but I've heard from several people that they had the same problem with the 30 watt and the mini. But I did start a similar thread and everyone was ranting and raving about the Sig 100 watt and 100 watt plus. So it might just be that model but it's hard to say. Again, I haven't had any problems with my 150W.

I do have to say that the iPV mini V2 and the iPV4 do look pretty sweet! I may end up investing in one of those at some point. I really like how the iPV4 has temp control. They're making some good moves to keep things current and stay at the top of the market. Speaks volumes for the company! Either way the guy goes he should be happy.

I have the Sig 150w and got rid of the ipv3 don't get me wrong but IMO Sig is nicer mod but ipv3 is very close second. Had problems with touch sensor on ipv3. Either way both these mods bang huge clouds and huge flavor IF UR BUILD IS CORRECT. Optimum resistance if you do the math to give you the most adjustability is .347 that means you can go from cold vape to hot vape from 10-150 if you go below that you close your adjustability down and begin to combust ur fluid at the higher wattage.again IMO both boxes will make you happy I love my Sig I sold my ipv3 to get it with the dark horse I have lots of room forclapton coils and I even built some 4mm I.d. vertical macros that had hella flavor. I guess what I'm getting at is both boxes a good choice I think Sig is better for the money dark horse rad and build in dual 22awg or Clapton or braided sets for best results for flavor

sigelei owns p4u so i would say there the same build quality but the siggy 150 is newer and i think it looks better too only down side is it only reads ohms to the tenth place, not a huge deal though
