I went to the pioneer4you.com website in hopes of finding a firmware upgrade to my IPV5 because it only goes to 75W. Anyone else have that issue? Suggested corrections?? I contacted the vendor last night but, nothing yet.
75 watts??????

But .... I thought it was supposed to be a 200-watt mod ????

Are you sure u bought the ipv5?

I didn't know the IPV5 was released yet all I've found are pre-orders mind if I ask were you got it from.
As far as 75W limit that's not good It may limit you to 75 Joules in temp mode but it should do 200 watts in power mode unless your doing a low sub-ohm build then it may limit power but 75 watts ???- I'd return it as defective.
Oh shit RTV bro, see that's why I don't buy from p4y the last mod I got from them was the seven 30 26650 mod it was CRAP
return it dude, it's ugly anyway

Nice looking mod and the price is nice also. I hope you get the 75 watt thing sorted out.
I'll start off by saying I don't have it, but it could be a few things.
1. Are your batteries high quality LG, Sony, or Samsung rated for at least a 20 amp CDR? Are they fully charged? Did you check them with a volt meter? VTC5's, brand new. Didn't check them with a volt meter but, the charger said "4.2V" when I took them off.
2. What's the resistance of your coil? I ask because it seems like a few mods I've been reading about have a 25 amp output limit. Depending on resistance of the coil and what's it output limit is can cause the device to be limited on max output. Coil resistance is .35 ohms on the TFV4 Clapton coil
3. Is it 120J for all TC wires or just Ti (just my own curiosity)? The 120J was with Ni200
4. It could just be defective Most likely. Got an email from Ecig Avenue and their mulling it over.
Good Luck!
Cheers,
Steve
Mine will be here today, I will see what I can see as far as watt limit. This is kind of strange as my ipv4s has no problem pushing 120w....
Oops simply, I thought you were ecig avenue. Disregard my pm!From Ecigavenue...
Hi
We are looking into this to see if it's a setting issue or if we need to swap it out.
We will contact you shortly.
Thanks!
Sounds like a defective unit to me unless I'm missing something. I wasn't try to be argumentative in my earlier post. Just trying to cover all the possible user fixable problems. Good luck Red!

Red, I just thought of something (that can be dangerous lol) Does the IPV5 have modes like Eco, Normal, Strong, etc? If it does and it's in ECO, I wonder if that could be limiting power. Like I said, just thinking out loud here.
Cheers,
Steve
That would make it totally awesome but, alas, I'll have to say no.
What ohm coil are you running? The ohms have to be low enough for any device to fire that high, if it is a 1.5 ohm coil you won't get 200 watts, probably not even 100 watts.
Throwing this out there as I don't know. But is it set to SX Pure mode? May be a power limit for that.
I can't remember the last time I ran even close to 1 ohm. Lol!! It was the .35 ohm dual Clapton on the TFV4 in power mode.
I think you can only set coil types in Joules mode. Good thought, though.
Why not contact KMG, they are the warranty repair center for Pioneer/IPV5, pass the issue by them!I went to the pioneer4you.com website in hopes of finding a firmware upgrade to my IPV5 because it only goes to 75W. Might want to check to make sure. The SX Pure atty will run in either Temp or Power mode.

It seems like it is only reading 1 battery, maybe a bad connection.
Curious if like the sx350j board 4.2v geta you 75w and 8.4 does the 150w maybe the ipv5 is the same? Are your batteries in right

Did you hear from the avenue yet? I am super-bummed for you, but I am sure it will get cleared up quickly! Fingers crossed for ya bud!
Do you have the batteries facing the same way? If its run in series one goes up, one goes down.
Not saying your an idiot or anything, so dont take it that way, but some people dont realize high wattage boxes have to run in series to produce that much wattage.
A bad battery connection was my suspicion too.It seems like it is only reading 1 battery, maybe a bad connection.
Have you tried putting only one battery in the mod to see of it acts the same way? If it does, it's probably a battery terminal connection issue. Probably bad wiring.Tried another set of new, fresh batteries. If it's a bad connection, must be interior of the mod.![]()
