Ipv d3 doesn't maintain wattage?

I have an ipv d3. I have it set around 40-50w. As the battery life depletes so does the taste and vapor. It is showing the correct wattage and VoLTE on the screen but around 50% of battery and less it keeps getting weaker. Is that a common problem?

How many hours are you getting off a full charge? What type of batteries are you using? I find my D2 gets the best battery life out of all my single 18650's?

I'm not sure because once the battery gets just below half charge it starts getting weak. I'm using the LG HE4 18650 battery.

Well you are not super sub ohming and the battery is good... I'm stumped. Maybe try vaping between 35-40w and see what happens?

I've went back to my Cleito tank. I don't remember that issue with it. Just the last two days with the protank. Might be an issue with the tank. I wasn't very impressed with it.

I might be in left field here since I don't own that mod. I seem to remember reading something like that mod didn't have boost in power mode (might have been the D2 - I'm just going off memory). If that's true, that might be why you were having issues.

When you notice the problem. What is the voltage of the cell (keeping in mind it would have been lower than you measure because it would be sagging while firing).

You can honestly only get so much from a single cell though. The more discharged it is, the harder it will have to work.

Cheers,
Steve

It's the D2 that didn't have boost but it was supposedly corrected in the D3.

Edit to add - wait, I think it was step down. Unless that's the same thing as boost?

Yeah, as I was typing it, it hit me that I was probably thinking of the D2. Like I said, I don't have either one so I was just going off memory.

You are correct on this one, I have the D2 and the D3, and there is a workaround to make the D2 work correctly.

You need to actually put the device in TC mode, not power mode-the problem is there is no step down in power mode, so even if it is set at say 7W, it will fire a lot higher than this.

While the device is in TC mode, select NI200, and max the temp. Lock the resistance, and instead of watts, you adjust the joules. This allows you to use non TC coils with step-down on the D2.

But, as you say, there is only so much a single cell can do at 40-50W, and it could be sag related, but it could also be to do with the D2's issue maybe?

EDIT: I apologise, I realise the OP has the D3, not the D2. The D3 DOES function correctly in power mode.

I just took advantage of the D3 clearance sale on a certain well known site for $28 for the red one. I absolutely LOVE the little thing and can't put it down. I currently have it paired with an original Avocado and I'm not noticing ANY issues at all. Certainly no voltage sag. I'm using a pair of the brown LG HG2's in mine and swapping in and out. I got the mod Wednesday of this week and have swapped batteries once. So yes earlier I had the first battery down to about 50% charge and didn't notice any weakness of vapor production. Bad D3 maybe? Mine is rocking and I'm loving it for a $28 tiny almost stealth mod. Almost because the red is REALLY red and could probably be used to guide boats into harbor in the day time. lol

Oh and the D3 is the one that supposedly has true working step down.

everything these folks are saying about the d2 doe sno t relate to you d3. and even if i t did it would have nothing to do with 40-50w ranges
i had this issue with the d2 and it was the battery connection was not holding the battery tight. but the d2 and d3 have a totally different battery connection. the battery should be good and tight when installed, if i t has wiggle room that might be the problem. the battery could be the issue, get a new battery from a reputable dealer like liionwholesale.com what your using is fine, for longe rlife get a lg hg2...the brown one. but to me this seems to be a battery issue or a battery indicato rissue...like it says your at 50% but your really at 5%

I think it was more to do with the tank. I went back to using the Cleito and it still happens but not nearly as bad and is still usable. Also there is no more spitting which is awesome! I'm not a big fan of that protank 4 lol
