i currently have an mvp 2.0 and ill be getting an ipv mini 2. The mvp, as you all know, you cant change the battery when its dead, its disposable basically, whereas the ipv2 you can pull out the battery. now, this maybe a stupid question, but can you charge the battery thats in the ipv2 mini by plugging it into a mini usb like my mvp or will i need a speicific battery charger and need like 3 or 4 batteries?

This also may be a stupid question posed to you, but do you already own 18650 batteries of some sort? the IPV Mini v2 can be charged via USB, however, you need to own the batteries to put in it first. If you don't, I'll go ahead and suggest some: Sony VTC4s, LG HE4s, Panasonic 25rs; I own 4 of each of these batteries, but I am abit of a mod junkie... (4 mechs and my IPV mini v2 with a IPV4 on the way). With that, you probably SHOULD get a good battery charger, i.e. Nitecore or LUC or XTAR in which ever configuration you like (2 or 4 bay) as this may help with charging multiple batteries at once. I own the IPV Mini v2 and I love it, though I cannot really attest to how well it charges via USB as I use my Nitecore i4 charger most of the time. Hope that helps!

You should be okay with the efest in a regulated mod, though I'm sure; there are smarter individuals on VU than I to speak to that. I've never seen VTC4s with a "protective circuit" before; that alone makes me a bit leery of these. And yes, that charger should work out just fine, though I was mistaken and I have the D4, not the i4... the D4 is just the digital version and allows to actually see a readout of how your batteries are charging vice just the little blinking LEDs. costs a bit more, but worth it IMO. Happy to help!

Sony VTC4's are not protected... and they are getting very hard to find authentic ones... given those two facts, that eBay listing is likely for a fake one.

Only purchase VTC4's from known reliable vendors.

1. Its not recommended to use protected cells anyways as the circuit can cause "problems" with mods.

2. You mean SAMSUNG 25rs, no Panasonic battery has a continuous amp rating higher than like 6 or so, those are for flashlights, not a 70 watt APV.

3. Nitecore would be the last charger of those 3 that I would get. My D2 worked for 2 months before it started undercharging my batteries and you'll find plenty of negative reviews of them lately. Xtar or nothing for me. I went back to my "cheap" MC2 and it still works better than my D2.

Efest batteries are fine batts I still have the 20amp 1600 from like 2 years ago that still hold charge. Tho I do use them in a flashlight now. Any way the USB charge on the IPV works realy good and fast. I only used it once at work when I forgot my 2nd batt at home but it worked great. I would grab a 2 bay charger when you can afford it and at least 2 more batts just to have. Since time isn't a concern you may want to grab them from fast tech I get mine from imrbatteries.com but I'm in the states
