Ipv mini battery problems!

I recently purchased the ipv mini and am having trouble with batteries fitting. I can barely get them to fit. So does my ipv mini need a specific 18650 battery?

Are you using flat top or button top batteries?

Most of the newer devices prefer the flat tops.

I'm using Sony VTC5s and while it's a tight fit, they do fit. I also tried it with AW button tops, and those fit too. It can be a bit fiddly getting the cap screwed on to start, but once I get the threading right it goes on fine (the cap isn't entirely flush with the bottom of the mod though).

That's the problem Iv been having. And I just found out that the battery I'm using is only rated up to 4.5 watts LOL so that was the problem I guess

What on earth battery is that? LOL

It's worth investing in some good batteries. You can't find the Sony VTC5s anymore, but there are lots of good alternatives, particularly for teh 30 watt IPV!

Haha I have a friend who has some new VTC5s and he's sending them. I just couldn't wait so I bo that battery too "BAD IDEA" but every thing should be fine once I get the new battery. Oh and the battery was a nuon from batteries plus

I hate to say it but if they're new (as in he just bought them) it's extremely unlikely they're genuine

He owns a vape shop and said he had a few left over so you might be right. If they are fake would they still be safe to use?

I just don't know enough about it to say. I personally wouldn't use them - they might be ok, but I wouldn't take the risk. I buy all my batteries from RTD vapor. There are other places that are also reputable, but I just always use them!

What battery would you recommend?

There are others who are much more knowledgeable than I am about current batteries! I bought mine a year ago, but a lot has changed since. The Sony VTC4s are much talked about, and the Samsung -25Rs. If your mini is the 30 watt model probably either will do fine. This is where I get mine from (there are obviously other places as well, but I know these people only sell authentic batteries):

Thank you so much! You've been a big help.

One more thing, make sure you have a good charger for any new batteries. I have an old Xtar XP-4 but there are many good ones (and many bad ones). Agan, RTD sells chargers so you can at least see what they have.

Hey, I've got a IPV mini, as far as the battery cap, what I've found with mine is , if I hold the mod upside-down, and back screwing at first, it's much easier to get on with out crossing-threading. You might try that. I use VTC4's from IMRBatteries, very good prices.
