So I know the iPv4 is comin out.... By chance have any of you connected lucky dogs played with it yet? From what I see/hear it's only 100 watts, but supposedly has a Mini USB charging port that actually works... Just wondering...

But only 100 watts?! The 3 makes it look like a downgrade... Except for the batt cover- magnetic.

just because its less wattage doesn't mean its a 'downgrade' in any sense

Lol, only 100 watts. Year ago that was unheard of. :D

What on earth would you need more than 50 watts, never mind 100????? I have the XPRO M65 and I haven't used more than 35 watts and that's only with a sub ohm tank and coils. Maybe I just don't get the " Mine is Bigger than Yours" attitude, lol!!!!!!!

Kind of off the main topic since I have no experience with the IPV3 or 4 lol but I'm finding the real power of the high wattage boxes is in the ability to build higher ohm builds and run them at hotter temperatures. I've got a 50W box right now and I love building in the 1.2-1.5 ohm range, gives lots of surface area for flavor and I can still get a nice warm vape if I choose, just push a little extra wattage!

this is part of the problem.. people think just because something has higher wattage, its a better device.. no one NEEDS more than 100 watts to get an amazing vape.. the sub-ohm tanks prove this.. 30-50 watts is plenty

Well, in all fairness there are the guys running low builds with 120-150w, but they are a minor group of people. 150w device, to me, is like okay, i kinda get that. But something like the 260w SMY box, what the hell China? 260w is enough to toast some bread, make coffee, run a hairdryer or weld. That is just something i can't comprehend.

I'm not saying there aren't people who use insane wattage.. all I'm saying is there is no NEED for it.. A sub ohm tank with 50 watts of power puts out an incredible vape that should make 95% of people happy.. 70 watts was even too crazy for my liking.. and at say 150 watts with a dripper how many puffs are you realistically getting before you need to drip again? it has never made much sense to me .. or the whole cloud chasing aspect of vaping - but i guess theres plenty of things I don't understand in this world :)

Well no, you don't need it. With 24mg juice you dont really need nothing bigger than an Egostick with a Boge cartomizer. With the Subtank you only need a 50w device. With a dripper, some people may need 100w.

imo they are going in the right direction, more refined vaping experience instead of horsepower wars.
Great answer... Hottest I've actually gone is 85 watts on an unregulated....

So what's a step up in quality from an ipv3?

This. I've had my iPV3 for about 2.5 months. It's completely transformed my vaping habits. I almost never use my Kayfuns, pretty much drip all the time. I never dripped before. I've settled on dual coil builds between .4 and .65, vaping between 40-55 watts. I knew I didn't need even 100 watts, just wanted the dual batteries. I didn't realize how much it would impact my vaping and make me barely use my mechs, so now I want a single 18650 device, I like the iPV mini 2, so I can keep my batteries in rotation. I force myself to use my mechs a bit, just so I don't have like 13 perfectly good batteries sitting idle.

I understand 50-60 watts, it's a nice warm vape, 165... one pull of a 1 second and you're dry. I'm now finding myself interested in temperature control, it will be interesting to see if the iPV4 has it. I wish the Smok 80 watt didn't have built in batteries, aside from that it is what it want next. VaporDNA has them for $59.99, I have a $10 off coupon, add $3 bucks of nickel wire, and I've got an 80 watt temperature controlled device for about $53 shipped. If it just used an 18650, I'd probably have one ordered already.

I'm excited for more 60-100 watt boxes to come out, hopefully with temp control just to see what it's all about. I think there are good things coming this year, they already are, in fact.

I was literally JUST looking at the smok m80 too.. Even though it has the internal batteries.. there are so many other things about the device that make it seem worth it .. especially like you said - for only 60$ - it seems like a no brainer.. but I'm going to hold off a LITTLE longer and make sure some reviews look positive

I know... I was doing my daily routine as of late. Staring at the iPV Mini 2 debating getting it, and this morning VaporDNA had the Smok. Temperature control, everything I want, except I want a single 18650. The price is great, though, especially with $10 off. Like I said, you'd be out $53 shipped with a bit of nickel wire to build with. Almost too good to pass up. I'm gonna wait, though. The brass 510 pin is a tad worrisome.

You know more is coming... I do love the iPV Mini 2, though. I got to use one the other day, and it's sleek. I just worry that the Mini 3 or whatever is around the corner, with temp control. Then I'd feel stupid. Must not buy, must wait.

yea and if it is temp controlled - knowing P4U and their track record with devices - it might be wise to hold off until the v2 LOL

I call them how I see them lol.. The IPV2 IPV3 and IPV mini all had a ton of issues when they first rolled out.. now they are all around solid devices but it's better to be safe than sorry nowadays..

My iPV3 has been pretty great. I got it the beginning of December. They messed up with it by selling pre orders with features advertised which didn't end up on the device. I knew what I was getting going in, so I was fine with it. The Mini, and Mini 2 is fucked up. If I purchased a Mini, and the 2 comes out almost immediately at the same price point, and more than double the power, I'd be pissed.

I think it's wise with anything electronic to let reviews come out, with people having it out in the wild for at least a month. I tend to wait a month or two when I've upgraded iPhones in the past. Even Apple tends to have some type of issue that just doesn't get revealed until used by the masses. They have a budget and quality control/R&D that is probably exponentially larger than all of these Chinese companies combined. The consumer is always the Guinea Pig when being an early adopter.

My ipv3 has been a solid device the biggest flaws were the prebuy changes. The charger has been determined to be a bit sketchy but I have never plugged it in.

Definitely don't have that attitude.... Lol I just like quality products and want to know more about them if I am going to purchase them...

To each his own NCHornet... Lol. Enjoy your vaping.

Here is a little preview vid of the IPV4. I personally love the looks and the form factor. I just have no need for a dual 18650 100w box.

I have a sigelei 150 but I haven't used it once since I got my sx mini. I think the sx mini is the perfect blend of size/power and build quality. I just throw an extra battery in my pocket and I'm golden.

I have been using a IPV Mini 2, rotating btwn a 454 Big Block and a Psywar Onslaught. All my other shit, a lot of nice stuff in just sitting. The perfect setup for me. Mass consumerism is just pushing stuff that I just don't need, but that's just my opinion. 51.2 watts at .2 ohms. Perfection to me!
