Is 22ga to big for a Big Dripper?

You need to look at your wicking method and how the airflow is hitting the coil before anything else. That's going to be the main source of flavor and vapor. The size of the wire you use is negligible at this point. Do you have a picture you can post of the current build and how you have your airflow control set?
What device are you using the Big Dripper on? According to the steam engine, 50W should heat it up pretty good. (See http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp?tp=0.41&r=0.3&hfnw=50&awg=22&id=2.5&ll=6)
I'm using a Sigelei 150.
I have to concur with @nameonawall, since I own the Sigelei 150 myself, I know it's able to provide the power. What is the ID (inner diameter) of your coil?

After looking at the picture, that's way too much cotton. Make sure to leave enough space around the coils, so the air can circulate properly. Cut the cotton so it touches the well, just good enough to suck up the juice.
Is that a good size for the coils? Not to seem stupid or dumb, this is my first ever build that I have ever done.
Just like was said above, you have way too much cotton. You want a clear space between the air flow and the coil so as much air hits it as possible.
Here are some builds I did the other night. Notice how the cotton is touching the bottom of the build deck/juice well, but is limited in the space it takes up. Also notice how the there is ample air space in the front and back of the coils. This will allow you to tighten your airflow control while also getting better vapor production and flavor.
Damn those are some clean builds... I hope to achieve that some day!
Yes, the ID is good. Most of my coils on my RDAs have an ID of 2.5mm. On vertical builds, if the space allows, I'd use a 3mm ID, which helps keeping the wick moist. The coils on my 26650 RDAs, are 3mm - 4mm, due to more space.

They are .2-.5 ohm builds
I hope I can build them like that with more practice.
What is your argument of not enough vapor based on? If you're going by videos or pictures, you might produce enough vapor with the juice you are dripping. Which brings me to my next question.
Assuming you don't have a wicking/airflow problem, what VG/PG liquid are you using? When you use high PG liquid, you'll get not as much vapor as you'll get from a high VG juice. The clouds you typically see on the video reviews, are produced by higher VG juices. I personally like a 80VG/20PG juice and it does produce some big clouds. However, the throat hit suffers from high VG juice.
I'm using max vg juice. I make a whole lot bigger clouds with my Atlantis, with the same juice.
Is the airflow the same on the Big Dripper? Are the coils close to the air holes?

In theory, the airflow should be at least the same, if not better.

It wouldn't be coming from China would it? I have a vamo v5 coming that I order on the first of this month and its saying it will be here on March 31st. Damn Chinese New Year.
No, it's an original, that I ordered at Grand Vapor Station.
Re. China, I'm waiting on some of my stuff that was shipped end of January. Maybe I'll receive it by Christmas.

I was contemplating over whether to get the original, or the clone. I decided to get the original and support "Made in USA". I received my Big Dripper today (meanwhile yesterday). However, I'm unable to put coils in it, due to missing Allen wrenches. I don't have the tools to manipulate the screws. I would have expected to have the tools supplied, necessary to put my coils in it, especially for the $$, I had to pay for it!
Bummer!
So much about, you get what you pay for!
