Wire them down to .25 ohm and they are good for fires. The big box mods just aren't reliable. They sell a lot of them because they are cheap, or because some are impressed with power numbers on paper- like 1000 watt car amplifiers at Walmart, which are pretty much only good for trunk rattling...
Power don;t mean shit unless it is clean.Wire them down to .25 ohm and they are good for fires.
Kinda miss the old dbdrag days.

I'm going to use the vs dna200 as an example, it will fire from .1ohm to 2.0ohms. So while if you wanna blow clouds like a mad man with a solid build at couple hundred watts, you can. But if you want to mouth to lung, shouldn't have any problem. So while these newer mods are much much more powerful, they don't need to be put to the limit if that's not what you're into.
So really, newer mods cater to everyone, since really anyone can enjoy them.
Seems if they created a machine that could only vape above the ohm line and max out at like 15 or 20 watts, it wouldn't sell too much while if you make a beast that anyone can use, then it most likely will sell a lot, which is the case we are experiencing now.
I would agree that it surely is not rocket science and the concept of Buck and Boost in a Mod and talking about HighNot at all. You claimed sub-ohm was advancing vaping. There is nothing advanced about it. It's extremely simple.
THISI have never been a smoker. I watched my father die from smoking three packs a day. My wife smoked when we first met and she quit through hypnosis and I was so glad. Years past, kids grew up and then tragedy hit. My middle son who was extremely bi-polar took his life in our home. I could not get any peace or relaxation no matter what I did. My wife wanted to go back to smoking because she said it relaxed her. I went to the vape store and bought us some pen style vapes and I must say that even at 4mg nic it really helped me to relax. Being an obsessive person, I kept upgrading until I got into subohms. The original method of relaxation quickly became a hobby of the search for the best tank then builds, different wire, temp control, rdas and anything else I could get my hands on. I can understand fully how an ex-smoker could be perfectly satisfied with +1 ohm vaping MTL but when you are dealing with an obessive Aspi like me it becomes "WOW, check out that cloud and perfecting your O's. So, here's to 150+ watt mods and Aromamizer RDTA's. Why can't we just all get along !!!!

I'm not sure how you arrived at that conclusion. I actually think sub-ohm vaping is quite interesting, it's just not for me. My ONLY point in any of this, is that I find it strange the market appears to be dominated by sub-ohm devices. It just crazy how a fellow VAPER like the OP is a hater of cloud chaser,

As someone relatively new to it (six months), I would have expected the vape community (discounting those who vape gas station vapes) would either be split evenly among those that plus-ohm vape and those that sub-ohm vape, or it would skew heavily towards plus-ohm vaping. However, it appears the reverse is true. Which is fine. Given that sub-ohm vaping is based off lung hits and high wattage devices, I would have thought it would constitute a smaller percentage of the community. Again, that doesn’t come with judgement, only my own personal surprise. What is so strange about it?
I haven’t. It was simply something I didn’t pursue because I found the vapor too hot and have no real interest in doing lung hits. The two attempts I did make were off a .5 coil on a Joyetech eGo One and from a .5 coil using an Eleaf iStick 30W with a Kanger Subtank Nano.Just out of curiosity, have you tried subohm vaping for any length of time ?

You can also control the heat with the wide open adj airflow, and like on my Tfv4 adjust the airflow on the drip tip as well.. at 80 Watts using the tri coil the drip drip helps provide a cool vape, good flavor and thick clouds...sub tanks are getting better and better and better... They have come a long ways in this last year alone and I'm excited to see what they come up with next!I was the same way first time I tried my sons RDA. I choked for several minutes. I thought no way I would ever want that much vapor. The 1+ thing just stopped being enough and I was in Austin at a conference when I stopped into a vape shop. I told the guy I was wanting to go sub ohm and he gave me a great deal on a Kangertech SubBox Mini. It was pretty inexpensive and I started out fairly slow but loved the increased flavor over the MVP 2.0 and Nautilus tank. I have never looked back since then and It has just mushroomed from there. I can hit a RDA with the best of them now and blow clouds that shock all the youngsters around the house. I just love messin with them !!! The good thing about the Mini is that it also comes with a MTL type coil so you can work into subohm if you care to. No need for hot vape unless you want it. You can control the heat by the wattage.
Wow umm, a good set up is a lot cooler. As someone relatively new to it (six months), I would have expected the vape community (discounting those who vape gas station vapes) would either be split evenly among those that plus-ohm vape and those that sub-ohm vape, or it would skew heavily towards plus-ohm vaping. I agree with you a year ago we used RDA's and that was only for the die hards.. If no one would have ever sub-ohmed we would have been fine..It's sad that people put down other people because they prefer to vape differently than they do. Its like the Provari fanboys putting down other folks because they don't use a Provari. The whole point of vaping for me is to remain tobacco free. It just so happens sub ohm satisfies my acquired nicotine addiction better than tootle puffing on a 1.8 ohm Protank..but that is what works for me...

I agree in fact the other day as I was out and about I felt like a fool blowing big clouds around .. I scared an Older couple.. A child said "Mommy Mommy what is that man doing" I surely like sub-homing but it looks god darned ridiculous in publicDon't let the forum fool you. There is a very tiny percentage of the vaping population that posts on vaping forums. These are mostly cloud chasers trying to get bigger clouds and DIY juice makers. The vast majority of the population cares about neither. I don't hang out at vaping shops. It's rare for me to see a person on the street blowing clouds. Most are vaping +ohm.
That's fair. Is there a set up you would recommend? Keep in mind, I'm not looking to drip and I'm not into rebuildables. For me, simplicity is a bigger factor than cost.Wow umm, a good set up is a lot cooler.
Understood. I was basing it less on the forum and more upon the sheer amount of new devices available in each space (sub-ohn vs. plus-ohm). Just seems like the number of new sub-ohm devices coming out is far outpacing the number of new plus-ohm devices.Don't let the forum fool you. Tons of options on the market. I suggest going to a decent vape shop that at least has a decent selection and see if any are able to be tried. That's fair. Is there a set up you would recommend? I want to see a sub ohm tank with tiny LED's inside so when you hit the button they light up.There was literally no where left to go but up. Higher watts. I suppose they could make some sort of mod with bluetooth so we could fire our vape with our phones.![]()

Break faster??? WhichThey break faster, wear out faster, burn through coils faster, cost more, use more e-liquid and are 'outdated' every couple months... No wonder Big Vapor pushes high wattage devices...

Batteries wearing out?Batteries which are pushed to the limit wear out faster, as do mods... Yes, the higher wattage, the higher the price...Sub ohm vapers I know use 30-40ml.day... Yes. The forums and Youtube convince some the 40 watt box mod is outdated when the 50 watt mod is released...Yes, Big Vapor wants sub ohm vapers to continually buy mods, tanks, coils, batteries...

I wouldn't be vaping with people stopping in the middle of the road staring at me. First of all, none of their fucking business what I'm doing. Second of all, creeps me the fuck out. I got a real serious problem with people staring at me.I never got strange looks in the hood when I had my Ego. I would still get the hoods coming up and asking to bum a square or "get a short", until they realized I didn't have a cigarette. Never got (or overhead) any comments from coworkers.
My mod and sub-ohm tank in the hood? Different story altogether. First of all EVERYBODY looks at me funny and people driving by slow down or even stop in the middle of the road and look at me like I'm standing there in my birthday suit. On the upside I haven't had anyone ask me for a cigarette. I have had coworkers make comments, though.
I don't know if people in the hood don't know what I'm doing or think I'm doing 'something else'.
I prefer sub-ohm if it means a higher powered box in comparison to an ego-style battery and tank. I've vaped 1.2 and 1.5 on my mod and the flavor is good, but I like the warmth of the sub-ohm vape.

Name me 3 DNA 200 mods? with LIPO?Many DNA 200 mods have lipo bag batteries. Vapers don't buy them for use with 2ohm coils at 7 watts... I'm not quite sure you understand what sub ohm vaping is...

This is educational broStrange game. The only winning move is not to play.![]()
