Istick 40W TC

Hey I have an istick 40w temp control along with a nautilus mini tank.... Im vaping at 470 F 12W ....

still new to this temp control stuff and vapes in general...

I read about the aspire nautilus TC coils... Im really confused in general.
why is the istick sensing temp at 470F when this isnt a TC tank... or coil.

Also should i get the aspire TC coils... or a new tank... I want to get the best experience..

Thanks guys

You need to switch it over to power mode - it's not sensing TC, that's what you have it set to use :) You have the instruction manual that came with it, right?

You can now get Ni200 coils (TC) for the nautilus. If you want to use TC mode with your current equipment that's what you need - otherwise switch it to power mode.

Also, something's not right here: in TC mode it sticks at 40 watts, not 12 watts!

yeah when i switch over to TC mode it does say 40w in the smaller screen... yes i dont vape on tc mode.. i use the regular 12 watts when i vape..

are these coils as good as getting a new tank and vaping at 30watts?

I've been vaping a lot longer than you probably, so what works for me may not work for you. I love the Kanger Subtanks - but even those with stock coils work up until about 25 watts. However I think the flavor is 10 times better than the Nautilus.

agreed. the mini naut was my first in a istick 20, now I have a istick 30 with a kanger subtank mini. I took a few pulls off my wifes mini naut, and almost died trying to get some flavor. The kanger mini is where its at(at least for now)

A TC mod will try to do TC on a standard Kanthal coil (so long in the resistance is within range). However it won't be able to succeed on Kanthal based coils simply due the resistance of the coil and how it responds to rapid changes in voltage. I can take an rDNA unit such as my VaporShark and it tries it's best but it just doesn't work in TC mode on that kind of coil. As @AmandaD states you'll need to switch to pure Nickel (Ni200) coils to get the benefit. You can also use Titanium coils, but I've only got about 2 weeks experience with those so I can't really comment with any certainty.

I use a 20W eleaf istick with a nautalis mini and it vapes great. So I decided to get a back up battery for when my 20W needed charging and bought the TC40W. I noticed right away that for some reason the 20W istick vapes way better with the nautalis mini than the TC40W. Not sure why, but maybe someone on here can explain. The only differences I notice are as follows.....On My 20W my setting is 3.7V which shows 6.8W. When I set the TC40W to 6.8W, it only shows 3.56V. There is no voltage control for the TC40W only wattage. So if I want 3.7V on the TC40W, I have to adjust the watts up to 7.4W which gives me3.72V. This still results in less vapor production than the 20W. Can anyone comment on why?
