I got the istick 50w with a kangertech sub tank mini, and a 5 ohm coil, I was told that's the strongest coil available for my sub tank. So my question is #1 is that true I can't support a better cool? And #2 are there compatible sub tanks that are stronger and give bigger clouds? My buddy told me I have the best available as far as sub tanks go, opinions?

I assume you meant a .5 ohm coil. What wattage are you running? By stronger, do you mean bigger clouds? More info would be helpful.

Yeah .5 which supports up to 30w but I usually go 25-27.5, obviously it can got up to 50 watts. And yes I'm looking for bigger clouds

Ok, next question. What is the PG/VG ratio of your juice? Higher VG will give you more vapor/clouds. Also airflow will have an effect on it too. More airflow, the better.

I assume they're 50/50 but I use about 8 different juices, what I really want to know is if there are (compatible) coils that can handle more than 30 watts

Kanger Subtank Mini is supposed to come with an RBA that you can make coils for. I would assume you could make something that would tolerate more than 30 Watts. Maybe someone else can chime in with a suggestion.

The Eleaf website states that the 50w can go down to .2 ohm on the coil. If you don't want to build your own you're probably going to have to get a different addy. I believe the Atlantis has OCC coils available at .2 ohm. The Kanger only goes to .5 OCC, or if you get a temp control device Kanger has the lower (.15 I believe) nickel coils.

Based on the fact that you can go down to .2 ohm coils there are many new sub ohm tanks out there that will give bigger clouds. My personal favorite...The High Voltage tank and the Matrix by High Voltage. Also there is the Artic, The Sense By Herackles, The Starre by Freemax, The Atlantis V2. Some of these tanks come with available coils .2, .5, and .6 ohm coils.

Going lower is not necessarily better. A .5 Ohm Coil will give you a lot of vapor at 30+watts. I use my Arctic tank with .2 Ohm coils on my mechs and have used it on the 50 watt, however those coils tend to perform better at 50+ watts. Food for thought.

What I meant by that was those mentioned tanks can give bigger clouds but some of them only come with .2 coils. You don't want to get a tank and find out you mod wont fire it. I have the .6 in the Matrix and get good clouds out of it at 35 watts. The High Voltage which is my absolute favorite only comes with .2. Even that I only use 40 watts. The vape gear has taken leaps and bounds in the past year and best of all the prices are much better.

Funny thing, I used to think dripping at 20 watts was the cats meow. Now with the builds I make, anything less than 70 is kinda cool and anemic to me.

That pretty much answers my question, I don't want to build my own, I like the convenience of the subtank. I'll have to check out the Atlantis

Good stuff! Will those all work with an istick?

Moving this over to Regulated Devices...

I use an Arctic with 0.2 coils on my iStick 50, runnning maxed out all the time at 45-50 watts. It'll fire down to 0.2 no problem.

The Subtank only has 0.5 and 1.2 pre-built coils, you could potentially build lower with the RDA attachment but I don't know that I would, at least without filing out the liquid holes a bit. You can get a little better vape and more power before you get dry hits by taking a needle and gently making a couple impressions on each side of the factory coils at the liquid ports, but general consensus is that other tanks like the Arctic, Starre, Herakles and High Voltage all deliver a bigger cloud - though even maxing out the iStick at 50 watts you're only getting a taste of what they can do...

Yes. You will be running at max watts with a .2 coil, my suggestion would be to get .5 or .6 coils for the iStick, bigger clouds bra!

Are you saying I'll have better clouds with a .5 than a .2?

.2 coils require a lot of watts to make thick tasty vapor, ..5 or .6 coils require less power.

The aspire2 comes with a .3&.5 ohm and the reviews I've seen you get a crap load of cloud from the .5 ohm coil I use the .3ohm coil but you need at least 70 watts to benefit from the .3 where as the .5 ohm loads up at 25 watts and you can take it high if you want

Maybe because I have a powerful box I don't see to much of a difference. Megatron 260 Has triple 18650's in it. I use the High Voltage Tank with the .2 coil at 40 watts and the .6 in the Matrix at 35 watts. I get huge clouds out of both of them. Yes I hit the High Voltage at 100 watts! No real need for that but the tank did it. It got Very Hot lol. Now if I use the tanks on the SMY 60 watt the tanks take a few hits to "Heat Up" then they seem to work ok. So the triple 18650 seems to deliver more power faster than the single 18650 even though both boxes are regulated.

Thank you all for the links and coil advice.. I personally don't want to go too low in ohms.. I have the subtank mini and actually wanted the 1.2 ohms basically to Vape high VG juices and I unfortunately have a bad subtank in touch w kangertech.
But I will be looking at the high voltage one!! And the Lemo
