Isub coils rewick help

Hi,

So after my moan a week or so ago, i have persisted and the ni 200 are better than the kanthal.

However, i have seen vids on rewicking the isub coils and making them last even more.

So i bought some Muji cotton.

Now, 1st coil i tried to change seems to have gone wrong. I got the cotton out but also pulled the coil out/bent it.

So before i go wrecking anything else, can anyone tell me if:

I can only rewick the kanthal 0.5ohm?
I can rewick the ni200 0.2ohm?

I heard that the kanthal are horizontal so they can be done easier. Are the ni200 vertical or something?

I can try to explain anything I have made unclear.

Cheers

Drew

The Isub NI200 coils are horizontal. NI200 being soft is more prone to coil damage. With any of them it's best to pluck the wick out both sides then grab the ends and stretch it out as much as possible to get the wick that was packed into the holes when it was made as thin as possible. Then grab just one end and rotate the wick in the coil while pulling gently on it sort of like screwing the wick out of the coil. With something soft like nickel it could be problematical no matter how careful you are. Using a rotating motion when threading the new wick to help rotate it into the coil can help as well. Using something thin and pointy to carefully remove the screen will let you better see which direction to rotate. You can pop the screen back if you haven't distorted it too much.
