IT: Welcome to Derry ended its first season back in December 2025 and the creators of the series are already hard at work on season 2. You can currently watch all episodes of season 1 on HBO Max, or you can purchase the physical discs and skip the streaming service fees altogther. Amazon has just dropped the price of The Complete First Season to its lowest price since release thanks to Prime Day sales.

The price for the 4K UHD edition has typically been about $40 since it was released in May 2026. With the latest discount, Amazon has dropped it down to a more reasonable $30. This price is only available to Amazon Prime members.

For those not already familiar with the series, IT: Welcome to Derry is actually a prequel to Stephen King's IT. It was developed by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, all of which were involved in the newer IT movie adaptations. The show exists as its own separate thing, but also includes a ton of great details connected to the larger Stephen King multiverse. If you're a major horror fan or just love Pennywise, this show is right up your alley.

What we said in our review

IGN's horror expert Tom Jorgenson reviewed every episode in the first season and had an overall postive impression of the sereis. Here's a quick summary of what he thought of the premiere:

"IT: Welcome to Derry’s premiere makes you feel right at home in America’s worst small town. The first episode accomplishes its most important task of re-establishing Derry and Pennywise with style and some expertly-drawn out tension, though some of the more CG-heavy scares fall flat. Indirectly honoring a popular critique of the novel, the kids’ side of the story is (so far) way more compelling than the adults’, but Pennywise has barely begun to poke his red-tufted head out of the sewer, so there’s plenty of time for that storyline to start floating. We all float down here, after all."

Should You Wait for a Better Deal?

While this is the lowest price we've ever seen for the 4K edition of the show, this is still a fairly new release. Prime Day is generally the best time to buy 4K Blu-rays at a discount, but it's not the only time that these types of sales happen. The current price drop on season 1 is a good deal right now, however, physical media tends to get cheaper as time goes on. It's definitely possible that you could get a better deal by waiting for Prime Big Deal Days or Black Friday later this year.

With that in mind, this is a really good price for a newer 4K release. If IT: Welcome to Derry is a series you absolutely want to add to your 4K collection, there's no need to wait it out until Amazon shaves a few more dollars off to buy.
