This time its Vaporcrypt.

This isn't as vague a reason as the others. I took a look at Vaporcrypts website and they are selling full out Hana Clones for $120.99 - logo and all. They don't even try and hide it.

I have a feeling they don't know they are being sued yet - because its still being sold on their site.

Wouldn't suck to find out your being sued because Vaporjoe told you?

I still think it could have been avoided with a simple phone call.

Im sure they will plead no contest and claim they bought the clones being under the assumption they were real....fat fine and a slap on the wrist.

Do these guys just go after the vendors or are they also suing any of the manufacturers of these clones? Seems it would be easier and more efficient to go to the source(s).

if the sourced clones are made in china, they will never get paid the lawsuit if they did win, they will go after the vendor for selling the product.

Zens response to his newest Mod being cloned--http://houseofhybrids.com/zenesis-2-news
Classy way to handle it.

Win, lose, or draw, the end result will be the same. Bad press for the vaping community, even though 'we' have nothing to do with it. Another arrow in the quiver of Big Tobacco supporting their notion of an 'unregulated industry'.

I think Zen’s response (and responses similar to that, such as Vape Overload’s approach to clones) will do far more to boost sales of their originals than Hana’s litigation approach.

After reading his response. I intend on making an original from Zen my next acquisition. What an impressive amount will and determination. Outstanding example to us all. I am absolutely amazed at his courage to embrace change. He has earned a new customer and gained my respect and admiration. Bravo Zen, Bravo.

IMHO, cloning a mod is one thing.

But adding the original makers logo/name/trademark to it is another.

Can someone hand them their "sign" along with their summons?

They deserve it!

Exactly. Litigation tends to breed bad karma, especially when the manufacturer sues B/M shops with internet sales. The quality of clones has increased markedly, due to the vaping community demanding quality at a reasonable price. Some of the most vocal opponents of clones have sold them on their sites, and been busted using them in photo's. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Their resources and focus would have been put to better uses developing another addition to the product line IMO

I think Hana knows they lost the box mod market. Now instead of embracing the new higher power technology, they chose to sue everyone. Look at Provari, they make a great and safe product and haven't gone batshit insane with lawsuits against people who sell clones, Why? Because they make a great product and back it up with excellent customer service unlike Hana. Hana is more concerned with the $$ rather than their customers which is their downfall. Happy customers brings more sales and more $$.
