Hello everyone. To start off, I just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

I'm running low on flavors, so I ordered a "flavor kit" of 10 different flavors from Liquid Barn. A friend of mine introduced me to a couple of their flavors recently, and I was pretty damn impressed. I got my friend started in both vaping and DIY. He was a 30 yr 2 pack per day smoker now coming up on a little over 2 1/2 years of being smoke free. He rents a couple of rooms out, and his tenants told him about Liquid Barn. I tried the green apple, and the orange banana that he made. Both were delicious. He and I ordered our PG, VG, and nic together, so I know my finished juice will taste exactly the same as his did. His tenants gave rave reviews for quite a few of the other LB flavors - the root beer in particular, so I'm super excited to taste the rest of them. If they are even close to being as good as the other two, I am going to be super happy. The flavor kit is $4 off right now, so I'm getting 10 15ml bottles of flavor for $25.99 ($35.31 incl. shipping) isn't too bad. Here's what I got:

Flavor Kit (10 flavors)
  • Flavor 1: Blue Raspberry
  • Flavor 2: Greek Yogurt
  • Flavor 3: Cola Freeze
  • Flavor 4: Green Apple
  • Flavor 5: Lava Cake
  • Flavor 6: Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Flavor 7: Strawberry Cheesecake
  • Flavor 8: Strawberry
  • Flavor 9: Rootbeer
  • Flavor 10: Pink Lemonade
I'm also going to re-order a bunch of the Flavor Art flavors that I've used up as well as replenishing my stock of Flavorwest Butterscotch, which is my all time favorite vape. 15% FW butterscotch. Bam! I noticed that FW now has a "Natural Butterscotch" in addition to the original. Now, I'm the kinda guy that will happily vape the artificial stuff if it tastes better than the natural stuff. No problem. Better living through chemistry. FW says "All Natural Water Soluble Flavoring. Ingredients: Natural Flavoring, Propylene Glycol. USP Kosher Grade Flavoring. Usage Rate 15-20% for E-use. No Refunds on Flavoring. Color Level: Tan. Independently laboratory tested Diacetyl free.". Has anyone on here that liked the original tried the natural version that can give me an opinion? I was going to get a 120ml bottle. Ecigexpress only has the natural version in 30ml, so I'd need to get 4.

And... as promised. Some general BS. lol. Lately, all of my juices have been coming out great. I really don't understand because I have become very 'careless' when mixing. I pretty much guess on everything these days. I use the same 3 syringes for every flavor and I never rinse them between flavors. Here's a little tip. If you plan on reusing your syringes, never store them fully depressed. When you go to use it next time, you might find that the little rubber plunger cap is stuck to the bottom of the syringe. You try to pull it up, and the plastic stem pops out leaving the cap behind. You can use something to push it up from the bottom, but anything small enough to fit into the hole is also small enough to puncture the cap when you try to push it up. When you put your syringes away after a mixing session, pull the plunger up about 1/4" first. When the plunger sticks in storage, you can simply push it back down to un-stick it. It's been months since I've had to throw away a stuck syringe. I measure my nic with a syringe - ~.1ml per 10ml of juice, and I use syringes for the flavors as well. I really don't sweat the measurements. Strong flavors get about .1ml per 10ml of juice, and weak flavors ~1-2 ml per 10ml. I put 8ml VG in a 15ml bottle, and a little under 6 in a 10ml bottle. I just top off the empty space with whatever amount of PG it takes to fill it. For minor flavors in a mix, I just count drops using my knowledge of how potent the flavoring is to determine how many to use. Ever since I started mixing this way, the taste of my juice has improved tremendously. I no longer tell folks who ask to taste my vape, "It's probably not very good. I make my own, and I never buy anything to compare it with. It tastes better than a Marlboro". Now, I just hand it over and wait. I haven't seen any funny faces lately. ;)

GRAB it! The Natural is excellent BS flavor .. I am a fan of both.. while your at it... grab some of FW BS Ripple .. awesome stuff.
Butterscotch is one of the flavors at the top of my list .. the regular is a bit more 'sharp' and candyish, while the natural to me is a bit softer. The Ripple hmmm dunno exactly how to compare and contrast that.. but it is delicious. If you are a fan of FW BS .. get both the Natural and the Ripple, you won't be disappointed.

I noticed that FW now has a "Natural Butterscotch" in addition to the original.

It's also pretty good, but slightly less potent than the regular FW version tho IMO.

A few have said that the LB Vanilla Ice Cream is quite good...

Thank you! And I might just give that ripple a try as well.

Better yet get a scale, and toss the syringes :)
I hardly look at the numbers on the syringes any more. My PG/VG syringe is 20ml, and 8ml is about 11/16".

If I bought a scale, I'd be looking at the bottle sitting on it and guessing how many 16ths on an inch of each ingredient to use.

When the mix was done I'd say, "Hey, look at that. This 15ml bottle of juice weighs exactly the same as the last one. I guess I did it right.". :D

Maybe I should start mixing using a ruler instead?

All my own juice gets steeped for about a month by the time I get to it so it's strong enough by then.
Make sure to give your FW mixes at least 8 hours open air.

Thank you. I forgot to mention. I do not steep anything. Ever. (I'll put a fresh bottle in my front pants pocket right after I make it so that it will warm up to 98.6 for mixing (shaking) when I'm ready to use it. I call it "pocket steeping", but the purpose is really just to thin the juice out. Most of my mixes are in 15ml bottles and are gone in less than 2 days. I mix a bottle every other morning before work. I typically start using it as soon as my tank needs to be filled again.

If I do have a recipe that requires flavors to blend (HIC's Pina Colada is one of them), I'll mix all of the flavors into a single bottle in the correct ratios creating a new flavor for that recipe (This is also the only time that I do measure the flavors carefully.). I use it as a 'single flavor' shake and vape from then on.

I never bought into the steeping thing. I always thought of it as more of a mixing thing. If you put 6 flavors in a recipe with a total of 15ml flavor and 85ml of PG/VG/nic in a 100ml bottle, it's going to take a while for all of the molecules of each flavor in the mix to 'mingle' with all of the other flavors because of the dilution of the base. That's why you need to steep. If you make a 15ml bottle of a recipe comprised only of the 6 individual flavorings with no base, the molecules have less space to travel in order to mix with all of the other flavor molecules. It doesn't take as long for them to blend together. When you add that 15ml of flavoring into the 85ml of base, no steeping is required because all of the flavors have already blended.

I keep Blue Raspberry, Green Apple & Strawberry in stock.
I like Strawberry/Kiwi a little better than straight strawberry but it's very good.
Were these all LB flavors?

Don't over-complicate perfection. Mix it at 15% standalone and ENJOY!

Just a quick little update. I tried the Flavor West Natural Butterscotch at 20%. In my opinion it tastes pretty bland compared to the original Flavor West Butterscotch.

I'm glad that I ordered the 10ml size of the Natural Butterscotch and the 4oz bottle of the original. I won't be using the natural version again.

I have the LA Butter Rum. That is some good stuff. Only made 1 bottle of it so far.

As to the FW Natural Butterscotch, I only made it half way through the 50ml bottle that I made. Dumped the last half down the drain. The "unnatural" Butterscotch kicks it's ass...

Yeah, still need to try FW Butterscotch. I got a 1 oz bottle from Nic River on my last order on a whim. It does smell good though. I have FA Butterscotch, but it's not that great as a standalone, so I have high hopes for FW's :)

Let me know what you think. It is THE best Butterscotch out there (disclaimer: I might not have tried all of the smaller flavor companies' BS)
