Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan is going to get the TV treatment.
Deadline reports that Amazon grabbed a series commitment for a Jack Ryan show, which will be made through Paramount TV. The intention is it will be picked up straight-to-series -- though Deadline notes the project is not greenlit yet.
John Krasinski will star in the project, which comes from Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland (who worked together on Lost and The Returned), as well as Skydance Media and Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes. Krasinski recently worked with Bay on 13 Hours.
The intention is to update Clancy's CIA hero to contemporary times. It will feature Jack Ryan "in his prime as a CIA analyst/operative" and not looking to do a direct adaptation of the books.
