The new Cuboid 150 watt dual 18650 device should be out by late January. Has VW, Ni,Ti,SS TCR modes, and has a usb port for charging and updating. 3Fvape has them for $49.00 preorder. Sweet...

Could this be vaping perfected? Joyetech is plotting world domination. This is the second salvo after the Evic VTC Mini.
It's looking good. They now have a single, double, and a triple 18650 mod (Reuleaux). I'd love to see a small single 26650 mod with a VTC style board. Something sized in between this and the VTC. It would be glorious.

I was just reading about this on FT. Appears they may have a 200w upgrade already. Not that I personally need 200w. I'm in...I like what Joyetech has done for the VTC mini, I can assume they will support this as just as well.

I thought I read somewhere the release data would be Dec. 28th?

Wow I didn't realize how long info has been out on this thing. I need to pay better attention to dates.

This thing looks interesting, seems to be very pocketable for a dual 18550 and if it's as good as the VTC Mini they'll have a winner on their hands. I'm looking forward to more info on this mod.

I ordered one this morning from focalecig, had holiday coupon, so got it for $40 shipped, don't really need another mod, but couldn't turn down that deal for a dual 18650 150W mod :)

Just last week I was telling my wife the RX200 is the last mod I'd ever need. Today I was showing her the Cubis and her eyes nearly rolled out of her head.

Oh, I got my RX200 from Fasttech today but have not opened it. They sent me the white and I ordered the black one. I sent a support ticket with pics and am not going to open it unless they tell me to. I really don't want the white one.

Man, if I were you I'd be pulling my hair out. Hopefully they can get it turned around quick and you'll have your new toy.

To be honest I really like the white one but could not bring myself to order it. I went with what I usually get, bad ass black.

After watching Brian's review, only con I could find was the single up and down button. Would have preferred a dual button set-up like Evic VTC Mini. Maybe some brighter/more colors (red, green, blue, etc...) Other than that, it seems like the mod to beat in 2016 in the $50.00 and less class.

I agree. But I also don't care for the expanse of shiny black plastic, which, to me, is a fingerprint and scratch magnet, or the battery door latch mechanism. They had a proven, winning, and, above all, popular design with the eVic-VTC Mini. Why they didn't simply expand on that I'll never understand.

I don't need the power, anyway, so my second mod will more likely be another eVic-VTC Mini.

My VTC mini, even though black, looks pretty good with my assortment of leather or silicone covers. Makes it much more durable too.

Love the thing so much I've got another one ordered and waiting for delivery. But while waiting, along comes the Cuboid. Well, gotta do that one too so I ordered one of those last night. 3Fvape had them for a penny under 40 bucks, plus the 5% off coupon.

They also show it can be updated to 200 watts. Only holds 2 batteries though, so better use 30 amp batteries for that usage.

If Joyetech made this thing with the quality of the VTC,. they hit another homer.

Nobody has one yet, so time will tell, but I would agree that this looks to be a weak point. For me the shinyitis has got me. I really can't think of why I need one. The mini serves my purpose very well. I was about to order another mini when this hit the scene and the current pre-order price is about the same. It makes it almost impossible to make a logical decision to buy this or the tried and true mini.

Looks interesting

though I'm not certain there's much advantage over one 26650 over two 18650s. I like most of its design aspects over that of the Cuboid, except they made the same mistake as Joyetech, only not quite so egregiously: Putting buttons and connectors in the middle of shiny black plastic areas guarantees those shiny black plastic areas will look like crap in short order
shake.gif

At $90 MSRP, how do they expect to compete with dual-18650 mods at half the price, I wonder?

It's a step in the right direction, but I'm too happy with the large screen of the Joyetech boards to bother going back to tiny Evolve style screens. One advantage to a single 26650 mod over a dual 18650 mod is you don't need paired sets of batteries. Another is the smaller size. They're a bit thicker but they can be lighter, shorter and narrower than dual battery mods while still having more mAh and a decent amp range for moderate power vaping. They can't compare to a dual 18650 mod for high power vaping, but if you want a full day of vaping at 20-40 watts in a fairly small package it's an interesting option.

I'll hold out for a single 26650 mod with a nice large screen and a better price point. Might still get a Cuboid. It's really small but the battery door looks iffy to me too. The price is so tempting.

I'll just drop that Cuboid into a leather or silicone case to protect the battery door and display.

Joyetech seems to have proven over time they produce a good quality device, and that they will support them. They've made several updates to the VTC, updates which have given real value with the TCR memories. They usually do their homework and don't release devices that turn out to be inferior. An acquaintance of mine is on his third year with his original Evic tube. 150 watts is way more than I really need, but dual batttery life will turn out to be a plus.

Although any device/chipset can have its problems, Evolv seems to have more than their share. Maybe I'll do a DNA200 in the near future, but I'm going to wait. The Wismec RX200 was intriguing at first, but I'm seeing a lot of pictures and complaints about problems.

Don't want to sound like a Joyetech salesman, but this thing at under 40 bucks right now seems like a good value.

You see, to me, having to put a case around something like that doesn't make a lot of sense. It's like people do with phones. They "Ohhhh" and "Ahhhh" over the design and how slim and light it is and how cool it looks--then wrap it in a big, bulky case that destroys its lines and hides all that elegance.

Joyetech seems to have proven over time they produce a good quality device, and that they will support them.
I'm sure it's every bit as well-made as the eVic-VTC Mini. I just don't like the design or aesthetics. And I don't need the power. So I'll stick with the Mini.

I posted this elsewhere at a request but thought if you were looking at the Stout you might be interested...

As promised, a brief review. Nicely boxed complete with printed owner’s manual and a decent quality micro USB cable. My first impression holding the device? Solid with excellent ergonomics. Appears well constructed with a fire button that provides good feedback and an easy to read (long as you don’t need glasses) display. The power up and down buttons had good tactile feedback as well but could have been better fit as they did not sit quite as snug in their respective slots as the fire button did. Tested the 18650 adapter and it worked flawlessly (good thing too – see below). The black finish work is excellent though it does feel a bit slippery to me. No chips, scratches, or dents were noted. I would have preferred a stainless finish but black was all they were offering at the time of my order. A walk through of the various TC modes worked as advertised. Time will tell regarding the finish durability and the devices ability to take some punishment. Oh, the battery bay door, I really liked it. A lot. Since I bought this as a work rig I will be doing just that, beating the fecal matter out of it daily. I do, however, want to offer one VERY important piece of advice. The 26650 battery. Do NOT buy this on the cheap! The Efest 4200 mah/40 amp (yea right) I had purchased for this device had been wrapped and re-wrapped so many times I could not close the battery gate on it. As a result, I threw it in the garbage because I refused to try and force the door closed on it. In summary, great little 100w device out of the box and Efest batteries will never see another penny from me.

Ordered one. It just looks too good to pass up for $40. I kinda wish they had a white one but the black will match most of my tanks.

I'm thinking the black will look the best, the way it has the black stripe all the way from top to bottom on the screen side, the black blends better

The black looks very sexy, it is beautiful and blends well with the screen, but i am very concerned about the finish durability, my "black" Kanger stuff Mod and Tank has the paint chipped off all over the place just from simple things like cleaning juice spills with a paper tower or simply placing the Mod/Tank gently on a desk, and it makes it look so damn ugly.

I am holding the fire button on purchasing the Black version until someone verifies the durability of the paint/finish, because i would rather have the silver version which i do not like a lot than having a black version that would look ugly after few weeks because of peeled off paint.

Can someone who owns the black device try a simple scratch test on the inside of the battery cover/compartment to verify the durability of the finish? what do you guys think i should get? the silver/un-painted one or the sexy black? :)

I can't tell you the finishing process but Joyetech finishes are extraordinarily durable and resistant to damage. Casual and careful handling will have it looking new forever. You will get a slight atty rash over time, but it doesn't break though the finish down to the bare metal. This from my experience with a black VTC mini.

I'm in agreement that they should have stuck with the 2 button design, but I do like the battery door on the bottom of the mod. Putting it there gave them the ability to make the mod look seamless and sleek, which i like a lot. Going to definitely add this one to my wish list!

But don't you think it would be better to get the Silver (shouldn't that be just the metal material without paint?) and change colors with silicon sleeves instead of the less-durable painted black finish? i really need to decide on that issue because it is holding me back from placing my order.

i agree 100% the battery door at the bottom is perfect, i do not see anything wrong with that, makes the device very sleek and smooth to hold, no wiggle and magnets to worry about and this bottom battery compartment cover has been tested and proven for so many years with most electronic devices, also for people who will use the built-in USB for over-night charging like me would love this door because it will make me sit the batteries once and forget about them, no need to have half the device's case act as a battery cover!

I kind of love the one button design because it is part of what gives the device its smooth looks and one usually does not use these buttons all the time once the device is setup with the atty in use, to be honest i just love the way this mod looks so much, if it was me designing my own mod for myself i would have done it exactly like this, this is how much i love the design :)

I bought the black for my mini. I'd do it again. I've already assured you that these coatings that Joyetech uses are extremely tough and durable. These coatings will endure the long haul. This isn't the shit (prone to chip & flake) finish that P4Y puts on the D2's. BTW... whichever color you select... they're ALL finished. No, the Silver 'color' isn't the bare metal clear-coated.

I don't care what you buy. Let me leave you with this thought; As you go though life making choices about 'whatever'... are you feeding your fear ? (by playing it safe settling on something other than what you'd really want)... or are you feeding your joy, your happiness. Doesn't really matter what you do. It matter hows you feel about it. GL

Without waxing too philosophical, one of my monkeys is obsessed with efficiency, but in a pragmatic and prescient way that is concerned with ramifications and contentment rather than fears or gratuitousness.

Vapomizer, how is the durability any particular finish relevant if you plan on using silicone sleeves anyway?

You could get some Frogtape Delicate Surface and some Plast Dip Black Matte spray paint and put a protective coat on it yourself fairly cheap. If you don't like it, it will peel off with minimal work and be back to factory finish.
