I've been noticing an issue with my Joyetech Delta and I wanted to see if anybody else has this problem. I have problems with leaking when either a battery gets low or juice gets low. Has anybody else experienced this or am I not understanding something?

Hi Charlie, Ive got issues with my Delta as well. The performance is fantastic, however on the first atomizer head I kept getting liquid into my mouth (not much, but still) and addressed this problem to Joyetech UK. They replied that I should be vaping it on 17-18 watts, screw the head to the base tightly etc.... Also they said to check on the second provided head if the problem appears. Ive replaced the head yesterday, had really nice vape and.......no liquid was gathering in the mouthpiece. I was so happy, however every head priced £4 should work exactly the same. Today Ive left the delta on my eVic Supreme upright and when I picked it up, had a gurgling sound so turned the power up and had a big leakage out of the air holes!!!! So basically first head was leaking from the mouthpiece, the second one from the air holes, great. Ive sent an email to Joyetech UK and waiting for response. Searched the internet for Delta's problems, but seems to everyone is over the moon:) you are actually the first person reporting any leakage problem. Best regards

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one, I did however get Joyetech in the U.S. here to take it back and look at it so hopefully I will respond back with some good news.

I'm also having leakage issues with the Delta on the Evic Supreme. This is the second Delta and they have both got leakage problems. They're leaking through the air holes. Can any one help.

Well I have the same leakage from the air holes .tried changing the coil but still leaking.Hope sosomeone has a clue to what to do

I thought maybe the one I had was defect so I bought a second one. That's leaking too, exactly the same as the first one. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I haven't a clue what since the whole construction is quite simple.

I was going to buy another one but after I saw this thread surely will not but my problem is having a black evic supreme so othet stainless steel tanks look very odd on it. Can't find a good tank that suits it

I got a package from Joyetech today and it looks like they gave me a new Delta, filling it with juice and I'll let you know if the issue comes back or not.

I used the delta with a Sigelei 30W for 3 days and found no leaking. I'm not sure what changed but I'll post back after a week of usage.

Most tanks start to leak when you run low on juice because the pressure changes significantly. I had 2 deltas ever since they came out. Keep your juice tank at least 1/3 of the way full and you wont have any issues.

I have been using a Delta for a few weeks now. I love this tank! No leaking at all and I have vaped mine dry. These tanks are the best available IMO

ETA- Not only have I vaped it dry, I changed flavors when it was empty. That was after using for a week. Of course everyone is different so, YMMV

r2beat that makes sense since I have to do that also with my Aspire Nautilus.

Also if you are not using it for long periods of time close the air holes and it wont leak a single drop.

Mine is leaking even when it is all full . I have to close the air holes after each time I use it otherwise it leaks from the air holes

Try taking draws with the airhole fully open. Since the delta uses pressure the feed the juice, you might be using the delta with the air hole too tight. Also whats the vg pg ratio you are using?

Thanks that's exactly what I do when it starts gurgling before it leaks open the air holes and raise the watt and take some draws most of the times it works but sometime it still leaks specially if I forget to close the air holes after each use

As for the liquid it's v2 red guess it's all pg

Holy crap. 100% pg?? And yes pg vg ratio makes a difference. VG is thicker and thicker juices are harder to wick thus making it harder to flood. Try going to 50/50 ratios and im 99% sure you wont have these issues anymore. With my own experiences, the delta can handle 100%vg but you cant chain vape it. I've vaped 80%vg comfortably. Also more vg=more clouds more pg=more flavor+throat hit. Most vapers like 50/50 mixes but people with RDA's tenx to use thicker (higher vg) juices.

mine leaks too, with 50/50 or 100%VG, holes open or closed, changed heads twice, still the same. Juice gets to the bottom where the air inlets are and it gargles right away. Am I missing something? Maybe an o-ring or a gasket somewhere?
oh, and it doesn't matter if it's half way empty or full or 2/3
update: tightened head with a pliers,as much as i could, no leak so far

I want one of these, bad. I'm guessing I should be careful where I purchase; to be sure to get the latest version?

Thats a shame. I sold my ss and black one + 5-8 used coils in perfect conditiom(cant remeber exactly how many) for $60 shipping included on ebay. They worked perfectly. Ive since moved onto drippers

I play around with rebuildables too, but I really like nice fill up and go tanks for 90% of my vaping.

I don't find that one replaces the other IMO

Shame you don't still have that for sale :(

I have recently bought the evic supreme with the delta tank. It was working great until a couple of days ago I started to get a leak from the air slots.

I have taken it back to where I bought it and we have found that there is a small seal inside the tank that is faulty which is causing the leak. The seal can be found when you unscrew the tank and look down the side of the metal tube. The seal does not stay in place when removed and lifts up slightly. I keep pushing it back down which really helps but it soon causes a problem again.

I will update once I get the replacement tank but this could be causing the problems people are having.

Just a quick update on how in getting on with the delta tank.

After experimenting all weekend I have found that it seems much better
when drawing slightly harder than normal plus cranking up the watts to at least 20.

After some digging it seems the coils are designed to work with a lot more power.

Massive vape clouds !!!! In heaven !!

Hi All,

I have recently had problems with my new delta tank. It worked well for 4 days then I started to get a gurgling noise, fluid out of the air holes. I changed the coil, was fine for a day then I would get a burnt taste after around a days use. I ended up going through 3 coils in 3 days.

After inspecting the tank, I noticed that there is a small silicon seal seated around the center tube when you look down when you would fill the tank. This seal had come away slightly and it was not creating an air tight seal which caused problems.

My thinking is that if this seal is broken then the fluid isn't drawn through the wick properly. I have now got a new tank and it is working great.

I really hope this works as this tank when working right is absolutely bang on :)

How do you set the air slots on yours. I am finding that having it nearly closed is better for me but I don't know if that's good or bad :)

I am newbie when it comes to the vaping scene (only 14 days), god knows why I decided to jump in and buy the evic supreme haha

I have the exact same problem I use BigCloud eliquid which has a 70 30 Vg to Pg ratio and when it gets low it leaks through the air holes. I run mine at 5.7 volts and it doesn't make a difference and I complained to joytech, who where not the best to be honest just kept telling me to make sure the atty was tight and that below 20% that it would leak!!

I have had the same issues. I have now bought two Deltas, thinking the first was defective. After less than a days use, I have leaking and gurgling issues. I haven't noticed any obvious deformities in the silicone seal other people have mentioned. I have gone through at least five coils, and all leak. I have e-mailed Joyetech, which has been a painful process. They would basically e-mail back with questions, such as: have you cleaned it etc. Finally, last email I received said I need to take pictures of the device to start a RMA process.

When it works, this device is fantastic. Great flavor and clouds. But I find myself now cleaning this thing once to twice a day. I get liquid under where the coil screws it (the chamber with the battery contact and air holes). Liquid also gets above where the coil screws into the reservoir. I have tried high wattage (up to 20), pulling hard, pulling softly...none of it matters.

I NEVER let it get below 10%, in fact, I usually keep it above 50% because that seems to be where it starts to leak quickly.

The store I bought it from was totally unhelpful. The guy who runs the place has the same device and says he has never had leaking issues.

I use a Five Pawns 50/50 liquid. Nothing crazy here.

I suspect something has changed in the manufacturing process recently. Perhaps the seals? Either way, I would not recommend anyone buy this product at this time. Hopefully Joyetech gets its stuff in order and fixes the problem. Until then, I'm going back to my Aerotanks. The clouds may not be as big, but I rarely have to whip out the Qtips for old faithful.

EDIT: I have completed their RMA form. I will keep this thread updated with what happens.

I completed the RMA and sent my two Deltas to Joyetech. I received two new Deltas. I have only used the new Delta for a day, so it is too soon to say whether they leak or not. Regardless, the exchange went very smoothly, but it took quite a few emails back and forth. If the leaking happens again, I think I will be done with the Deltas for good. I have already noticed a little bit of e-liquid at the tip, but maybe this could be explained by some left-over vapor accumulating. I haven't noticed the horrible leaking yet.

One other thing I noticed, the coils that came with the new Deltas look different. The very tops of the coils now have a small ribbed appearance. I'm not sure if this is just to make screwing and unscrewing easier or if it serves another purpose.

These things still leak. I continue to use them, but they require frequent cleaning. All I can do is make sure they never get below 50% liquid level, but even with that there is leaking.

Can anyone recommend a similar tank that isn't rebuildable and doesn't have leaking issues?

I switched to the Kanger Aerotank Mega which never leaked, but would get dry hits often. Basically I broke down and went with rebuildables and have been very happy with it. As I said before, I don't think anyone has a reliable tank right now.

Kanger SUBTANK!!!! Sweet!! Heads 0.5 & 1.2ohm + rba section which is extremely handy. However stock heads are very easy to rebuild. I love using drippers, my russian 91% is great however airflow is too restricted, so recently I purchased Subtank and wow. Flavour and clouds spot on. The best clearo on the market right now in pair with Aspire Atlantis, but flavour is much better + rba section (russian/kayfun style). Highly recommended.

I have two Ecom megas with the delta16 tanks and I had the same problem with the first one but it went away after the second filling, don't know why but just incase I bought a Kanger mini pro tank 3 it works with the Ecom mega but I din't think it will fit the evic

Dear all.....like most of you I had the same leakage issue with my joyetech delta 23. So I opened the c3 atomizer head unit and I noticed where is the problem. Inside, around cylinder with coils is a kind of textile texture who was damaged after usage. Well I wrapped around stainless steel mesh (similar to genesis atomizer mesh) few rounds and I put back the cylinder cap. All day long I didn't noticed any new leakage. So in the end C3 triple coil cap has some technical issues......but with some touches all is ok now, and last longer.

Good luck with updating your C3 cap!

Well I didn't have problems with my delta 16 for about the first 3 weeks, then I noticed that it leaks sometimes but not consistantly. I noticed when I fill the tank that some juice is left on the rim of the tank so I just wipe it off with a piece of paper towel, that does not completely stop it but it hardly leaks at all now.

@Philtem try my method. C3 atomizer head has inside a piece of textile but in order to use your atomizer it become permissive to juice. Since I change that piece of textile with stainless steel mesh rapped few time around.... all seems to be normal...and I have no leakage at all.

I found two things that have solved my leaking problems:
1) Key point from User Manual "Please do take ten puffs under 4.0 voltage in first use is case that new atomizer head get damage under high voltage mode."
2) Saw a post on a Joyetech thread discussing how the atomizers use surface tension for fluid feeding, as discussed above, do not let tank go below 20%.
These two items have solved the leaking issues for me with 100% VG liquid.
