Joytech Egrip? Anybody use it for a long time? And what do you think of it?

Many of you have advised me to stay away from ego batteries, and after 4/5 of mine failing, I have learned my lesson. I would get a mod, but I don't want to put much money out on yet another tank and battery/charger.
Somebody recommended the Joytech Egrip, and ever since I looked it up I have wanted one. I love how you get a powerful mod-like battery with the tank built in for just about 50 bucks (plus eight if I get the RBA that goes with it).

I watched several reviews on youtube though, and they seemed mixed. Everyone who unboxed it seemed to love it when first using it, but there were two other videos that concerned me... One woman did a "month after" update and said the juice leaked everywhere after it sat for a few days. And on another video, this guy ranted about how he received three different Egrips to review and they were all defective.

So I want to ask any of you who have an Egrip and have used it for at least a few weeks... How do you like it? Are there any bad issues/failures you have experienced? Is it easy to rebuild? Any leaking or flooding issues? Any quick battery drain issues?

I absolutely LOVE it! I have 2 and just bought a 3rd the newest model with the OLED screen. I haven't tried the RBA, I'm waiting for that in the mail this week Right now I use the aspire bvc coils with a minor tweak to make them work. The stock coils the eGrip comes with aren't good IMO. I have been using mine for a month and no leaks or problems (knock on wood). I don't think you will regret it, the size is perfect and is so easy to use.

I've had mine for over 6 months and use it almost daily. I use the RBA deck and wrap my own coils. I used the aspire bvc coil hack and liked it, but with the RBA deck, so much more vapor and flavor. Any device will leak if you leave it long enough, changing atmospheric pressure is the culprit. When I'm not using mine, I simply turn it upside down. Otherwise with daily use I've had no leaking issues.

The egrip with RBA base is the BEST vape EVER for me... HOWEVER, after 30 days.. it died. Completely! A friend also had same experience, so that's NOT good...

I've had three for 6 months also. I use them for out and about and most particularly for traveling - all with the RBA base, which gives an amazing flavor (unlike the prebuilt heads). My only issue was the leaking if they sat unused for a few days, but thanks to Zamazam that issue is solved

I was so pleased with the rba base when I used it with the pre installed coil. It lasted about a week with great flavor and never leaked. But now that I'm using the extra replacement coils it gets a burnt taste right away and leaks a lot. Someone help!

Sounds like a wicking issue. I trim them so that they will just tuck under the lip at the sides of the base but not long enough to get caught in the threads when you screw the chimney piece in. Prime the wick before you screw the cap on the chimney.

How do you deal with the two other holes on the sides that the screws are? I can never get cotton tucked in there. So these holes are just wide open letting it flood.

I don't worry about them at all. As long as the wick is sticking down below the level of the air feed, juice will get sucked up by the wick. As long as you don't overfill and leave a little air bubble in the tank the the difference in pressure between that bubble and the outside atmosphere will prevent your juice from just running out same as any other bottom coil atty.
Edit: Provided the seals are good on the fill door and rba base.

I have two - one is about 6 months old, and liked it so much that I bought another a month or two ago.
I use it with the heads and with the RBA. No performance issues at all. If I had a magic wand and could change one or two things, I would make it a bit lighter and make the dial easier to read with my old eyes, but that is all.

I do stuff tiny pieces of cotton apprximately where they are. Without any extra cotton I do often get more leaking, but with too much it chokes.
